1 starI have been a long-time customer of ********************** at **************************. Unfortunately, recent visits have compelled me to escalate several issues to the manager in order to ensure even basic servicessuch as oil changeswere performed correctly. On June 20th, I brought in my vehicle for an oil change and an alignment check, following prior strut and alignment work completed on August 2024. The vehicle had begun pulling to the right. After inspection, the manager presented a repair estimate totaling approximately $2,500. The recommended services included replacing radiator hoses, upper and lower fan shrouds, the muffler heat shield, and both engine and transmission mounts. He also stated that the transmission fluid needed to be checked but claimed it was factory sealed and would require a paid service to access. Additionally, on a prior visit, I requested they inspect the windshield washer system, as the sprayer was not working. I was told the motor needed replacementthis also turned out to be inaccurate.I ended up going to another shop where the issues were addressed and I am back on the road again for under 500 dollars. In light of this experience, I strongly encourage others to exercise caution when considering Wilhelm Automotive. In todays economic climate, where customers are striving to make responsible, informed decisions, integrity and transparency should be the normnot the exception.Review fromAndrea N

Beware Ladies and Gentlemen . Took my car in to replace the breaks and rotors, which was very costly compared to others in the area. They gave it back to me with faulty parts and it was emitting a high pitch squeal so I brought it back. They replaced the brake pads and charged me for the factory rotors, did a test drive and sent me away. Two minutes down the road, same high pitch squeal. Now my car is sitting in the shop over night because of another issue and Im sure it will be another ******* charge when this issue never happened before I brought in the car to Wilhelm. Plus when I originally called I was berated and made to feel less than because I was calling upset, rightfully so! Who wants to spend additional time driving back and forth for c*** work?! Almost 2k later and my car ***** is now a pos! Shame! I should have went to the dealership, at least I know there would have been quality work done.Wilhelm Automotive

I recently had an issue with my car where there was a knocking noise in motor. I went to Wilhelm where I have been a consistent customer. I ask them to fix the engine knocking and they do the service for $800 providing engine mounts. They complete the service and the problem still persists.Flash forward to today I go in to have it looked at and they have the audacity to upcharge me with additional work rather than solve the original issue. Absolutely horrible service in which not only do they not stand behind the shoddy work they do. They upcharge you to fix the original problem. I'm 800 dollars deep for nothing. Absolute crooks!! They cannot complete a successful service without nailing their customers into oblivion. I will never go back. BUYER BEWARE!!!!Wilhelm Automotive

In May of 2024 the automatic transmission in my ***** Malibu lost all forward gears so I had it towed to Wilhelm Auto on ****************. The manager (***** ******) told me they could not find parts to fix it as the transmission was obsolete. However a local repair shop could repair it for around $5,200. I okayed the pair. During an oil change, an inspection found a leak of the right-side axle shaft seal. Also, the upper boot of the left-side axle shaft had a grease leak. I asked the new manager (**** *********) if the new right seal might be defective. He told me that the axle seal was not replaced, "only" internal transmission parts are replaced when they rebuild a transmission! I then asked if the technician working on this job could have damaged the boot when the axle shaft was removed and replaced? The manager told me that this was Not Possible! I took the car to another shop and had them check the axle shafts for leaks. The technician stated there was excessive play in the right shaft indicating something is amiss with the bushing/sleeve assembly that should have been replaced in the rebuild. As for the left upper boot "throwing" grease from a puncture in the boot could have been caused by "mishandling" of the axle shaft during the removal/replacement. This shop stated that these repairs should be covered by the 24/24 warranty. I met twice with current manager and both times he assured me these issues are not covered by the warranty. He went so far as to state that if I pay for replacing both axle shafts, he would replace both shaft seals. The final cost of the transmission rebuilt was $5,753.39. Now he wanted me to add $950.00 dollars to the extreme cost of getting the rebuild. The other shop stated that the rebuilt cost was "excessive" and Wilhelm should cover the repair under the 24/24 warranty.Last, Wilhelm states that "Wilhelm guarantees 100% customer satisfaction!" So, I would like to see if they honor that little promise???Wilhelm Automotive

****Do not use Wilhelm Automotive****Brought my vehicle to Wilhem for repair on Wednesday. They told me the issue was a battery cable. I had them make the repair, paid for it and I picked it up Friday. I drove less than a mile home and when I turned it off, it would not start. I had to tow it back to Wilhelm. On Saturday they said they couldn't get to it but would call me Monday. Monday rolls around and nothing. I call and they tell me the "master technician" will take a look at it at 7 am Tuesday and they will call me by 830 am. It is now 1 in the afternoon and they still haven't called. I go in and now they are trying to say it is a separate issue and try to charge me for more repairs. If you tell me this is the issue and I pay you to fix it, there should not be the same issue after I drive it less than a mile. Unbelievable. Would give 0 stars if I could.Wilhelm Automotive

Went in for an oil change and came out needing a new bumper. They sent me to a body shop who I continue having to call for the last 2 weeks as they do not return my calls about the bumper they are supposed to replace my vehicle with. The damage has gotten worse as I drive. The body shop then claims they have zero openings until July. What is this?!Wilhelm Automotive

Over priced!! Charged $4800 for transmission and still having the same problem! I have since learned from other transmission shops, the cost should range $2700 - $3000 IF it the transmission. I have encountered substantial failures and discrepancies in the delivery of these services. The service at this location is horrible! Because of misdiagnosis and/or part installation failing ************* we continue have to pay for rental cars, tows back to their shop and loss of work. This is very costly, time consuming which causes mental anguish and emotional distress. I am terminating my business with Wilhelm and requesting a refund for transmission payment immediately! On November 13, my son started experiencing issues with his transmission slipping in his **** **************. He took his car to Wilhelm Auto Repair for diagnosis. The technician diagnosed the transmission needed to be replaced. And provided a quote of approximately $4800 . My son approved to have the work done at their shop. On December 20th, Wilhelm contacted my son informing him the car is ready for pick up. On December 26, my son arrived and picked up the car. He drove approximately 7 to 10 miles and the transmission began slipping again the same way it had been before at the same speed. He called the shop to let them know and he was informed to bring the car back tomorrow. We are closed He called again and insisted they took the car back that same day. When he arrived back at Wilhelm, a techn got into the car with my son for a test drive and found, the car was in fact still doing the exact same thing it was doing when he brought it in initially. After thinking about previous experiences with failures at Wilhelm (replaced the alternator four times), and losing work, paying for tows and rental cars, my son decided, he no longer wants Wilhelm working on his car and I agree. Neither my son or I would feel comfortable/confident driving a vehicle repaired by Wilhelm. Their service is far from reliable!Wilhelm Automotive

I took my **** ****** Tacoma pickup in because the "check engine" light came on. The Rep. explained that in order to establish the cause they had to electronically "analyze" the truck. He explained the "analysis would cost $160 and in all likelihood it might just require a $5 part. After "analyzing" the situation they said it would cost $1,100-plus to repair the truck. This vehicle has ******* miles on it and I obviously don't want to invest a lot of money. In the end, they charged me $179.35. I took the truck to my old mechanic who "analyzed" the truck for free and repaired it for $500. I went to Wilhelm because they are close to my new home and have been in business for along time. I don't like to bad mouth anyone but I paid $180 for lip service. My experience with Wilhelm was very negative and I would not recommend them to anyoneWilhelm Automotive
