I hired Floor Coverings International on 09/05/2023 to install vinyl plank flooring in the living room, dining room, laundry room, kitchen and 2 bathrooms. They started working on the floors on 09/13/2023. ***********************************, the owner of the company, called me on 09/16/2023 to tell me that the flooring was all done.I moved to ************* on 07/01/2023 and was planning on selling my home in *************** the first week of October, 2023.I thought that the new flooring would appeal to buyers. When I went to my home, 09/17/2023, to see the finished job I was shocked with what I was seeing. My home was so damaged from the workers. The first thing that I noticed was filthy black smudges on all of the walls. There were black hand, and fingerprints everywhere. There were 2 holes in the laundry room walls, black scuff marks on the doors and cupboards, they damaged the corners of the kitchen and bathroom cabinets, chipped up paint on all of the door frames and chipped paint on a couple of cupboards in the kitchen and bathroom, the baseboards were terribly installed, the caulking job was horrible, they bent one of the blinds in the living room, which were in brand new condition, the house was absolutely filthy. They must have moved the dishwasher because it wont stay in place anymore. They also left soiled toilet paper in the toilets.I literally cried when I saw the damage that was done to my home.I was, and still am till this day, 10/21/2023, so stressed, depressed, frustrated, and I am so tired because of sleepless nights because all I think about is my destroyed home and not being able to sell it.I gave the company 3 different times to repair the damage that they did a horrible job. They used Mr. ***** sponges to clean the scuff marks and all that did was take some paint off the surfaces and you can still see the scuff marks. They tried to repair the holes in the walls of the laundry room and it looks like they used caulking to fill in the holes. They tried painting over some of the damaged areas and all that did was make everything look two different colors. This is the worst workmanship Ive ever seen in my life.I now need to have a contractor come to fix the damage. And I also need to hire painters to paint my home because of all of the damage that they did.I have not even got an apology for everything that they did to my home.

I need the contact that we both signed.
Im going to file a complaint to ROC and BBB about the damage that you did to my home. And its still damaged today.
Im not going to let this go.
Im going to fight for my rights and not let you get away with this.
If you dont want to go through with all of this you can keep the $2,000 for the deposit for the flooring and I keep the remainder of the bill

Text message above received from customer that if I let her out of her bill, she will not file a complaint on me.

I have full pictures and videos and how the house was left without damage.  ******** has a lien on her home because she refuses to pay.  I filed a Building Compliance Program report on the property so the Registrar of Contractors can inspect for customer benefit.

The customer is responsible to pay her bill and she could have put her home on the market at any time.  Her home not being on the market is her choice.

There is no damage done to her home other than she wanted the installers to have her home perfect.  Customer even cited we put a hole in her wall that was intended for cable TV cable years ago.  There are other examples as well.

Contractor requests customer pay for services performed and lien and attorney fees as mentioned in contract.

    Customer Answer

I do not understand how you can say that your company did not damage my home?
If your workers didnt damage my home then why did you have to go back 3 different times to try to fix and repair the damage that they caused?
And the repair job that you, and your workers, did is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional.

Pictures dont lie. And I have lots of pictures of the damage that was caused by them. And I also have lots of pictures of the awful repair work that you and your workers did.

I also have all of our text messages that prove that your company did do the damage to my home.

The damage that was done by your workers and the repairs that you and your workers tried to make right is so unprofessional and the worst workmanship that I have ever seen in my life that I cannot put my home on the market the way that it looks today.

The reason why Im not letting this go is because I dont want anyone else to ever go through what Im going through with this awful situation that you have been putting me through. Its such a nightmare.

My home looks awful and I just want it to look like before your workers came. And you know what my home looked like when you came to my house September 5, 2023 to give me a bid for the job. You even said that my home was beautiful and clean. And now its a disaster.

Im still baffled that youre still saying that your workers didnt damage my home when you know that they damaged it really bad. Otherwise, why would I waste my time and energy on this mess. I am a honest person and I would never do anything like this to anyone.

Im just so tired of all of this and I just want it over with and corrected so that I can sell my home and get my life back.

I feel that I deserve to have the rest of the remaining balance of the bill that I owe you to be taken off so that I can hire a contractor and painters to fix the damage that was caused by your company.

Customer needs to pay balance due plus lien fees and attorney expenses.

Customer has threatened harassment or financial gain to her as listed in last response.  I believe this is extortion by definition and contractor should be protected from illegal practices.
