      We contracted with ***** to install carpeting and vinyl plank flooring in our home. We had no idea that he did not do vinyl installation himself. This is a summer home, a few hours away from our full time residence, so we were not present to see what would unfold. When we arrived, we were shocked at what we saw. The flooring installation was substandard. No centering of planks, gaps around the toilets, plank grain laid in the wrong direction, large gaps along walls that trim would surely not cover. This was the tip of the iceberg. ***** decided to go camping that weekend and left a stranger ( it is not possible that he ever worked with this guy before) in our brand new home. It is inconceivable that someone could do so much damage. Brand new wood cabinetry scratched and gouged. Drawer and cabinet covers had to be replaced. Baseboards hung with improper, non matching corner cuts and edges with mountains of caulk to compensate. Much of this had to be replaced. Scuffs, scrapes and adhesive on the walls throughout the home. Newly painted walls and trim needed repainting. Sloppy, jagged cuts where the cabinets and center island meet the floor. The carpet install, which he, himself did was also poorly done. The doorway transition line into the second bath was curved, not straight. We had to pull back the carpet in one of the bedrooms because he installed the padding in pieces, leaving a noticeable gap visually and when walking on it. A total amateurish hack job that has taken months and money to remediate and has kept us from using this residence we worked more than 2 years to prepare. ***** was asked to compensate for the cost of the new flooring (the original flooring could neither be lifted nor covered over with the same material. He was smug and arrogant. He refused to pay ( invoices were provided) or even apologize. Please stay far away from this man and his company unless you want your dream of a beautiful home destroyed.
