I'm writing on behalf of my mother, who is now deceased, (passed away Jan 27, 2024 at 84) and her husband Richard Reger who is 91. My mother Linda Reger was treated by the oncology department and had overpaid the department above her deductible and worked to get refunded while she was alive, and then my father afterward tried to get reimbursed $1,708.23 that they had overpaid. They worked with an employee named SUSAN RICHARDSON who was in multiple instances (according to mr Reger's recollection) , unccooperative, unkind, at this point obviously still trying to keep her errors in accounting covered up, which we chalk up to taking advantage of the elderly, for either personal gain or to hide the error on the accounting books. We have a stack of papers that now have full-circle proven the office took Lindas money and SUSAN in fact encouraged her to pay, without first validating that the deductible had been met. After finding out the deductible had been met and requesting a refund, SUSAN repeatedly was either unresponsive and/or insinuated (and verbally told my mother, according to my father) that it was Lindas "mistake" to pay the money, despite SUSAN and her office requesting payment from Linda. We are requesting that the office refund Mr. Richard Reger the full amount of the overpay $1708.23 in connection with Grievance Ref #G23277980879 complaint 1000410978752 and regarding 3 claims #1000420894936, #100420896420, #1000420896573 each claim for $569.41 each. A grievance was filed with Humana insurance 10/4/23 that showed the deducible had been met for the out of pocket maximum of $2400, proving that the $1708.23 was not needed to be paid. Yet the office billed her anyway. Despite attempts to have Susan Richardson correct the error, there has been no corrections after the initial abusive nature of Ms. Richardsons treatment of the elderly Mr and (at the time living) Mrs. Reger. At 91, Mr. Reger has appointed me to help resolve this issue, and we'd like the BBBs help.
