EA Medical Billing surprised me with a $500.00 assistant surgeon bill for a surgery in 12/2023. When they called ***********************, PA was in network with my insurance. They failed to notify me she ended her contract. I have all email correspondence with EA Medical Billing, my ************************************** she was in network. I paid because they called 2 days before my surgery demanding the money or I have to reschedule. The surgery was cancer preventative due to breast cancer and the medication I was taking had a high risk for uterine cancer. I paid because again I was under the impression ***********************, PA was in network since I had her in network provider number. I obtained all documents to file with my insurance January 2024. Per my insurance, they paid ***********************, PA (EA Medical Billing is her representative for United Surgical Assistants, LLC). When I submitted the claim to UHC, speaking with a UHC representative and adding a letter asking the payment to be sent to me, *** stated that the reimbursement will be sent to ***********************, PA as an OON provider. I did my due diligence and submitted the claim. UHC gave a claims reimbursement to ***********************, PA in the amount of $155.53 with an *** that states the patient does not owe anything else. UHC states that the provider now owes me a refund of $344.47. I have the claims statement, the *** and the conversation with multiple UHC representatives. I am requesting a refund of $344.47. UHC has paid ***********************, PA $155.53 per UHCFEDERAL NO SURPRISE ACT PROGRAM NAVIGUARD - THIS SERVICE WAS RECEIVED FROM AN OUT-OF-NETWORK PROVIDER AND THE CLAIM WAS PROCESSED PER APPLICABLE LAW USING NETWORK BENEFITS. PROVIDER: YOU CANNOT BILL THE PATIENT ABOVE THE AMOUNT OF COPAY, COINSURANCE, AND/OR DEDUCTIBLE. EA Medical wants to refund me the $155.53 that the insurance paid ***********************, PA even though my insurance states I am owed $344.47. I am seeking assistance to obtain the correct amount owed to me, $344.47.
