Was seeing a chiropractor back in 2021 and was told from the start they do not do balance billing so that I wasnt going to be bombarded with a surprise bill. Fast forward 3 years and just received a bill for almost $2000. I have not been seen by Backfit since December of 2021.

Backfit put me into collections without actually contacting me regarding my account. I had a credit card on file and paid upon check out so I was reasonably confused. The company Backfit uses is Patriotcompli. The employees at this company do not communicate information to each other and I have to repeat myself over and over that I have in fact sent proof of payment. It is clear they are reading from a script. I just now received the patient account ledgers from **********************. The billing office at Backfit did not apply apply my payments to what was the patient portion was. I was getting billed a flat rate of $50 regardless of what my patient portion was. This is sloppy/lazy billing. Backfit sent me two billing/account ledgers. One ledger is the lazy/sloppy billing of the same rate each time and I have paid the flat rate. The other ledger is my patient portion of all billed claims. They are trying to collect on the patient portion where if they bothered to read what they sent me, I have proved that I paid the flat rate which is more than my patient portion. Why on earth would you have two patient ledgers for billing? If I paid the flat rate which was higher than the patient portion/responsibility, that means I am owed money because this is how math works.
