We brought a tire and wheel in and asked them to put the tire on the wheel. They clamped the wheel incorrectly caused severe gouges and scratches to the front and backside of the wheel. The gentlemen that did the work admitted to the damage and they offered to fix it. All they did was spray the backside of the wheel with gloss black spray paint, which does not match the finish of the wheel. They did nothing to fix the front side. Now they are saying they are not responsible for damage and are refusing to have it fixed properly.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We apologize for any inconvenience that you have experienced. We understand that you brought a tire and wheel in and asked us to patch the tire. Our team clamped the wheel, but we would like to clarify that the tire was not clamped incorrectly.
We are sorry for the misunderstanding. However, we were unable to replace the wheel as there was pre-existing damage to it. We understand that all tire machines do leave a small ***** but in this case, the damage was pre-existing. We apologize for any confusion caused.
We would like to offer you a discount on your next purchase as a gesture of goodwill. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns. We value your business and hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

There was no preexisting damage to the wheel, the wheels are fairly new and did not have a scratch on them. I brought the tire into Discount Tire and they confirmed the damage occurs when the wheel is what they referred to as inside clamped which is not the proper way to clamp a wheel according to them. When the wheel is inside clamped damage almost always occurs especially with tires that fit tightly like ours do. The gentlemen that worked on the tire admitted to damaging it and that is why you agreed to fix it, spray painting it with paint that does not match is not the proper way to fix it.
