      I had surgery with ****************** on 5/7/23. I was told I had to pay my out of pocket maximum on the day of surgery in order to get treated. I paid them over $1500 and after surgery my insurance deemed I only owed them a little under $1000. They now are refusing to refund my $547.03. My insurance has told them how much I owe, I have had multiple phone calls with them, and they still wont send it back to me.

      I had a sinus procedure on 3/10/22. I was informed by my insurance company that I would only have to pay a $150 co-pay for the procedure. When I arrived, I told them their original quote of over $4000 for the procedure was incorrect. They did call the insurance company again but did not provide all of the info and proceeded to tell me o had to pay the cost or the surgery would have to be canceled. They eventually refunded me part of the money but still owe me $1050. They have responded to my lawyers demand letter to either pay me or furnish a document they said I signed saying I would pay $1050 out of pocket (and have said at least a dozen times in the past year they would provide me), that they lost the document, and are refusing to pay. I have a copy of the invoice that says they overpaid it, then recollected but I did not receive it. The doctor also asked me immediately before the surgery, after I had already been given anesthesia, which nostril is the worst one again? I had no idea. He told me I had the problems, including a severely deviated septum. In that same conversation, he said he may or may not do something with the deviation. Hed have to wait until he got in there. I was completely panicked. After being bullied and threatened with a surgery cancellation for not paying, when I had planned for a month because I am a therapist with VA and had to reschedule a weeks worth of patients. The number of phone calls, rude and disrespectful behaviors and concerns over competency of the doc and billing staff is why I am writing. I also cannot believe that they are stating that because of a clerical error, they lost this supposed document and are not taking responsibility for not paying me. My insurance company has provided counseling and told me they never should have charged me in the first place.
