    ******, owner, from Spencer 4 Hire Roofing, replaced my roof on July 1-4, 2024. On August 18th during a rain -- my roof started leaking on the 1st floor into my office. It leaked through the fire alarm causing it to go off at 5am. I notified ****** via text and email. He responded and came to the house to assess. On August 25th he re-did the roof replacement over the area which leaked. Shortly thereafter i noticed roof edging had open cracks (have photos) which were sent to ****** along with new water damage. ****** subsequently pulled off the roof tiles he had just replaced on the 25th, as well as the wall edging for the 3rd time since July 1-4. ****** then scheduled a "water test" on September 5th. This involved attaching my water hose to the top rung of a ladder and aiming it at the corner of the house "where the suspected leak came from" for >15 minutes to assess for further leaks. Unfortunately it was noticed this weekend water damage to the interior window sill of the window which had "splash back" from the "water test." We texted ****** to address this repair and he basically stated it was from rain or other issue and not his "water test." I have sustained water damage to my ceiling, my windows, my area rug as a result of faulty workmanship (as evidenced by the roof being redone THREE times, we do have pictures). My house has weathered many rainstorms with no leaks or water damage until Spencer. We have had no rain to speak of since "water test" and I have damage to the window sill which had water splashed on it repeatedly for >15 minutes (very similar to water damage to window sill downstairs). I am requesting repair and a partial refund for emotional pain and suffering I have experienced as a result of this. Of note, ****** competed repairs of downstairs damage which included painting over water damage and reseal the window sill downstairs on 10/11.

    It was unfortunate that the brand new roof did have a leak on it. It does not happen very often for Spencer 4 Hire to have leaks or callbacks on our roofs, but unfortunately, every once in a while it happens. However, once we found out about the leak, we responded promptly to fixing it and hired a general contractor to come in and make all necessary repairs to the damage ceilings and walls. Once repairs were made, we water tested the roof and no moisture was found using our moisture meters on the inside of the home. To clarify the leak happened on the one story section of roof to the right of the front door. A few weeks later, we got a call from ***** stating that the inside of her windows seal had water stains on it. This window is on the second story more than a foot above the roof that had the leak on it. I explained to her that her window must have a leak in it and that we are roofers and cannot do anything about her leaky window. She did not like this explantation and went on social media platforms, and wrote bad reviews. I reached out to her upon reading some of the reviews at that time her husband told me that she would take the reviews down if we paid them $500. I explained that the window leak is not something that was due to anything we did and is not covered under the roof warranty. After responding to all the social media reviews, she proceeded to take them down and now has sent this to the Better Business Bureau. 

    We pride ourselves on our customer care and taking care of problems that we are responsible for.

    Again, as for the roof leak, it is very unfortunate that she had a roof leak and I feel like weve done everything to take care of the roof leak and the damage that resulted due to the roof leak.
