Contracted with Valley Design *** for six 80" drapery panels 06/20/2020, PO #******. **** ***** and I discussed that the final product would be different than my sample panel. I provided both outer fabric and lining, plus offered exact matching thread. I was told she would use clear thread with a blind hem, the edges would have a 2" overlap, no tabs, and yes, her machines could handle the fabric. Paid a deposit of $200 in cash. Inquired several times; product was ready 09/29/2020. Picked up 10/10/2020 at ************************************************************* and paid balance of $299.57 (she said additional lining fabric was needed, which she provided, hence increase in cost over PO price). But the finished product came to me pretty much trying to be like the sample, with the wrong sides (no 2" overlap of primary fabric onto the back), tabs at the top, very poor quality navy and purple topstitching that didn't match at ALL (much less clear thread with a blind hem), some panels too short at 78.5-79" in length instead of the 80" requested, varying in width up to an inch, and extremely poor sewing. Some areas you could clearly see where stitching had been torn out and re-done; others were somewhat ripped and unfinished.Via text, **** ***** blamed someone named **** that she subcontracted to. She picked up the drapes and said she would make it right. Since then, that has not happened. I have reached out multiple times and get only excuses and promises that fall through. E.g., cancelled 5 min beforehand when she scheduled a meeting with me (that I drove 35 min for), said she gave my replacement fabric samples to another client (?!?!), moving workshop, illness, etc. Valley Design has failed to do anything to remedy this for 3 years now. It has been one excuse after another.I am out the $500 cash I paid ($200 deposit, then I rounded up and gave her $300 when picking up) plus the cost of the fabric, estimated at several hundred dollars (not pursuing cost of fabric).
