On Sunday, May 19 family of 6 parked in parking garage in flagstaff. We all tried several times to pay for the parking with a QR code and there was no service. Looked for anyone who worked there to talk to. Could not fine a single person. I made the decision to pay as we were leaving. Went to lunch. Came out to a big sticker on window and boot on tires of both cars: had to pay 75 plus 60 to remove boot, I got home to ****** and called company and tried to reason with them. Explained we would never just not pay. ***** agreed to credit both cars back the difference of ***** which is the maximum charge per day. The next day i called to ask when will credit go through and he said he isnt going to do it. Bunch of men running scam company are bullies. They seem to have an issue dealing with a woman on the phone. The signs say nothing of getting fined by a private company. And were confusing. I thought we could pay on the way out thinking how else would they know how **** we were there. Plus we could not get service to pay with phone or find a person. They say it is 4.50 per hour to park. We were there 2 hours and paid 75 for each car. I think this is a scam. I tried to reason with them but they are all bullies.Initial Complaint

Last Thursday (04/25/24) I parked and paid in the ****** Retail Lot (west side of ******, south of *****) operated by ****************** Company out of ********* so I could visit the shops across the street during my lunch hour.I paid for one (1) hour of parking and received a text message from PMC confirming this at 1241.I exited the shops and saw the tire lock on my truck and PAID over $130 to get un-locked at 1318 so I could go back to work. There was NO attendant and when I called the number on the notice plastered on my window, I was advised via automated greeting that no citations could be disputed until AFTER they are paid, instructions on how to dispute would be with my receipt received after paying.I received a text message from PMC at 1342 advising me my parking session had ended.I have since followed said instructions regarding disputing my citation and so far, crickets from PMC.Business Response

I was in ********* on 11/25. Went to dinner downtown and parked in the **** parking lot which is managed by American Valet. Attempted to pay the parking fee for 1 hour ($6.16) and had a message on my phone stating that the parking session was paid in full - I took a screen shot of this. Assumed that the website information was correct - went to dinner. Upon returning 50 minutes later to find a boot on my car. The price to unlock the boot $77.50 + $60 (refundable upon return of the boot). Unlocked the boot and returned the boot per instructions. Per the email, there is only mechanism for dispute - emailing someone at American Valet. There is little to no obvious recourse for me. Dispute has been raised hopeful that there will a fair outcome. If there was a payment issue, I'm happy to pay $6.16 but to be charged over 10 times this is excessive and borderline extortion.I also noticed another vehicle in the lot had a boot on as we arrived - I suspect there could have been billing issues? Advised other vehicles as they arrived to park elsewhere.Initial Complaint

I paid for parking for 3 hours from roughly 7:30 pm to 10:30pm at downtown *********. When I returned to my car at 9:30pm it has a boot. I went to the app to pay as instructed and later dispute it but the serial number on the boot was not coming up. I called and they couldnt find anything and said there was nothing they could do. No protocol no advice. I called the garage security and he came and tried all the numbers posted and no answer at around 11 we called ********* Police. They got a hold of something and they got someone from the company to answe and give them a code. I waited for 2 hrs at night with my daughters. I have screenshots and a police report. The man on the phone from American valet even told the offers that the system was glitching to which the officer replied then stop putting boots on peoples cars if youre having issues.Business Response

To whom it may concern:
This is regarding the complaint #******** filed by ******************************* on June 25th, 2022. Since the filing of the complaint, we have reached an amicable agreement to a monetary compensation of $200 with ******************************* for her pain and suffering.
On June 24th, 2022, ************************ parked in a parking garage that we manage in *********, *******. We did use one of our enforcement devices called a TireTag to issue a citation/immobilize her vehicle as her metered time had expired. In the process of submitting the citation electronically through our vendors website, it did not submit properly, and our employee was unaware that this occurred. This caused her citation to not show ** in our vendors website. Therefore, the vendor did not have record of this citation being issued and the code to unlock the TireTag was unavailable.
There are several signs posted in the garage with a phone number that go directly to our on-call employee. She only called that number one time and never called the other two numbers posted in the garage that go to our corporate office. She shared the screenshot with us of her call history that night. She called the security company multiple times but to no avail. She did eventually contact the police department who has our account managers phone number and contacted this individual. She was then given the code to release the device from her wheel.
When Corporate became aware of the situation that had occurred, we immediately took action to make sure that something like this doesnt happen again and contacted ************************ to apologize for what occurred. We offered her compensation as we take these matters very seriously. She agreed to an amount and a check was sent to her address promptly.
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
Sincerely,
***********************************
