To begin, it’s important for everyone to know that Katie, the Senior District Regional Manager, has “twenty years of experience”, and hence can:
      1. Deny resident phone calls 2. Deny matters from escalating beyond her. 3. Cite a matter “resolved”, even if it’s far from.
Katie, the Regional District Manager, spoke with me once about concerns at the pool. Once. Then nothing (literally nothing) was done. I called her back 2.5 months later to speak to her about it and she denied my calls. I then asked to speak to Katie’s manager. The receptionist cited Katie’s “twenty years of experience” as a challenge to anything further I wanted to say citing the issue was “resolved” - it was far from resolved. Aside from being the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever been told in a customer service situation, that’s bold and brazen coming from a company who cites the A of Pillar being “accountable”.
The scheme they use is quite simple, really. On-site management pegs every major decision and policy on corporate. Corporate conversely blocks outspoken residents and sends them back down to on-site. On-site then pegs you as a difficult resident. It’s literal ping pong but they have it down to a science. Beyond crooked.
One afternoon, a pool guest of a resident having a party with too many people, decided to get mouthy with me. All bets were off. Not on my dime. As a member of two marginalized groups, her comments were along those lines. Management did nothing. I had witnesses and descriptors. Pillar did nothing to help me identify. I had to identify them on my own a month later. Thanks Pillar.
Conventional wisdom might suggest that individuals refusing to partake in any conversations they know they’ll lose or have difficulty with wont partake in them. It also suggests that when you’re blocked from escalating a matter beyond that individual, they prove their neglect.
Pillar promotes bullying and harassment. Hard pass this company. Rent elsewhere.
