RFA charged me $4,800 last March 5, 2024 to help me cancel my timeshare and get a settlement of the $30,000 that I have paid to **************** Vacations Resorts (HICV) I could have cancelled the timeshare with HICV for $1,500 with no settlement. But I chose RFA because *********************** and *************************** the senior specialists the lawyer will attempt to get a settlement and get some of my money back. A few days ago, ********************************* case manager says that **** will cancel my timeshare if I pay them another $15,000. I have been asking to speak to the lawyer directly but they said that clients cant, thats why there are case managers. But the case manager does not understand the issue and why I paid RFA $4,800 to file a case and get a settlement. But it appears, this company is incompetent. I could have cancelled my timeshare on my own for $1,500. I paid them $4,800 and asking for another $15,000 to cancel my timeshare.I have asked to speak with the lawyers about the agreement. *************************** mentioned I will be able to speak with them after I paid. This is unacceptable. I want to get a refund of the $4,800 I paid to this company and let me do it myself. I didnt pay a group of lawyers to do a job of a highschool kid. The case manager cannot understand. She emails acronyms with no meanings. I dont know what she is saying. And now, shes forwarding me back to the senior specialists who said that they only cancel timeshare and do not help with getting settlements. I need my $4,800 back, I will inform my bank of this frustrating service and dispute the charge. There seems to be no real lawyers working here, only a bunch of incompetent RFA fraudsters.BBB, please look closely at the scammers. Scamming people who have been scammed. They are a bunch of incompetent individuals who only want to squeeze the money left in peoples pockets. This is by far, even worse than the timeshare sellers. The RFA supervisor has called me about the complaint and was informed that she can have the attorney speak to me but still no phone call.
*************************** called a few days later following up. I informed her that I spoke to her supervisor and she said she will have the attorney give me a phone call. I asked her if she can follow up with her supervisor to see if attorney can still give me a call.
if this is not possible and RFA cannot fulfill their promise with charging me with more money, then I would like to request for a refund of $4,800 I have paid.

We would like to highlight that the signed agreement you attached clearly outlines your rescission period, which is detailed on pages 3 and 5. This period expired at midnight on March 7th, 2024. Additionally, on page 5 of your signed agreement, under "Terms & Conditions,"which you also initialed, it is explicitly stated, "I/We understand that RFA Corporation has made no promise of monetary compensation regarding the cancellation of my/our timeshare property."
Furthermore, on June 24, 2024, at 9:35 AM PST, you were presented with a transfer option which you had the ability to accept, counter,or decline. You chose to decline this option. As a result, we are currently pursuing other avenues to terminate your timeshare contract.

We have been with RFA since September 2023. We have sent docs and all forms. I have requested a return call from *********************** and *******************************. I have left multiple message on voice mail and also email. We have had no update since Feb 2024. At that time was told we would hear back in mid March. I have left message with customer service. I cant get to a live voice to speak to someone and unable to talk with a manager. You have to leave message no matter what number you call. We took out a loan to pay the fee for cancellation. We have been making payments on that since September 2023. We have been changed from original rep to this new one. NO FOLLOW UP AND NO CALLS HAVE BEEN RETURNED SINCE MARCH 2024Business Response

When I agreed in early January to have this company represent me, it was an estimate that we would be in a legal proceeding within 90 to 120 days. It has now been six months (today, 6/4/2924) and Ive not heard a word from anyone on a legal team. The only positive thing I can say is that my representative does call back when I leave her a message, though she is unable to provide any additional information. After making the request for a refund, the response informed was that no refund requests would be honored. There has been zero action; I believe RFA is in breach of our contract.Business Response

On April I reached out to *** to help me cancel my timeshare so that I would no longer have the obligation to the timeshare company. I paid $1500 as an initial payment and am doing a payment plan for the next 14 months for a little over $200. On April 14th I sent all of my paperwork back into to *** and it was confirmed that they had received the paperwork. On May 16th I was sent an offer by the timeshare company to complete a deed in leu of a foreclosure. I promptly sent this to my case manager and was told by him that I should give them a call and make sure that what they are mentioning is real. (mind you I sent a screenshot of the notice that was presented to me) so I then did as instruct and reach out to them. I then question ****** on if this is paid to the timeshare company how it would affect them and the amount of money that I have paid them. ****** then asked if I wanted to stop the process with RFA. I responded to ******, and I told him that if I was going to penalized or was going to have to keep payments, then no but if there were not going to be any consequences then I would like to cancel since ****** told me that my file has not even been reviewed yet. It has been a week with no update and there is a payment due on June 5th. I would like to be refunded and payments stopped since there was nothing done by this company but the only response that I receive is that he is waiting on a response from legal.Business Response

I contracted with RFA Corporation to cancel my timeshare. I paid them $2995 to assist me in exiting my timeshare agreement. My timeshare was paid off years ago so all that remained was the monthly maintenance fees. They led me to believe that it would be a painless process and that Id probably receive monies back from the timeshare company ( *******). After three months they sent me blank forms to sign requesting credit card information and telling me Id have to pay three years of maintenance ( approx $155 per month plus $5300 to transfer the deed.) The transfer of deed would ***********-12 months to complete the process. I responded to them requesting the legal documents from ******* that they received outlining this agreement two weeks ago. I have heard nothing and suspect that I will not. In the meantime ******* contacted me and told me that I could exit the timeshare at no cost once the arrears in maintenance fees were brought current ($778.75). I told them what RFA Corporation had informed me I would have to pay in order to exit my timeshare. I have in writing from ******* that my costs will be zero. I have contacted RFACorporation rescinding my power of attorney to work on my behalf and requested my fee paid to them be returned. In the meantime RFA Corporation is tooting there AAA standing with the ** and frauding people out of thousands of dollars. Please remove their rating as provide information to the consumer that they are a fraud.Business Response

I retained RFA services in August 2023 to help me cancel my timeshare contracts. I have been trying to reach my case manager by the name of *********************** for 2 weeks now. *** made numerous calls, left messages, sent emails and I have not received any communication from RFA. No one will answer any of my calls or emails. I think Ive been taken advantage of.
