I enrolled in this massage program that was supposed to be 6 months but was extended to 9 months. I was set up with a loan through their third-party. The school was paid $12,600 that I am now responsible for and I received a letter from the school stating that they are closing. I am more than half way through the program that started in late January. I will not get a certificate as promised and will not be able to sit for MBLEX testing in November. This school has taken everyone's money and then closes for "lack of funding." I feel like they knew they had no funding and scammed more students to pay them tuition when they knew they wouldn't be able to sustain through the end of their program. They just enrolled new people in June. There is no way they didn't know when they took their tuition money or mine.

I have been enrolled through company for massage training. It is a 620 hr certification. I started in February and was scheduled to be certified in November. Yesterday I received a letter from the school stating that due to funding issues they would be closing immediately. I have a loan for $12,600 that was taken out through a third-party that the company uses. There are more than 20 of us that are now in debt for something they didn’t deliver. It looks like their parent company, MPower Interactive hasn’t had an Active status since 2020.

Mpower education is a massage therapy program I paid $8,499.00 to participate in, I dropped out of the course around two-three months ago, and I am by contract supposed to get a refund and it has been a month since I was initially told about my refund. Today I was informed by my old classmates that the organization is shutting down, the screenshots are from my classmates, I did not receive the same email as them and I would like to have the full amount returned since they are no longer open for business.

The 3 people I have worked with are Haley H., Missy C., and Caitlyn B.
Their respective titles were Enrollment/Account Manager, Course Mentor, and Director of Operations. I paid the $150.00 deposit on July 6th, 2024. Signed $11,400 loan agreement with Flannery Enterprises LLC (Hand and Stone owner in Peoria.)

I was sponsored by Hand and Stone to become a massage therapist after applying on Indeed. Haley reached out via email to start the process of enrolling with MPower Education. After signing my contract and loan agreement, I have not received any communication from any employee at MPower Education.

I scheduled a phone call with Haley H. on July 1st, 2024. Signed my Loan agreement and contract on July 2nd. Caitlyn B. sent me an email on July 3rd asking for my License and diploma/transcript. I sent both. Caitlyn responded on July 7th saying the paperwork was all in order. This was the last communication I received from anyone at MPower Education. Since then I have sent 7 different emails on different days. 2 emails sent to their student support email, 2 emails sent to Caitlyn B, 2 emails sent to Haley H. And 1 email to Missy C. I received automatic emails from Haley H. and Missy C. stating that they no longer work for MPower Education. I have received zero communication from Caitlyn B. or from any other employee at MPower Education.

If you take a chance with MPower Education but also do not receive communication then I would recommend canceling all contracts/loans within the grace period.

My next move is to call the loan company and hopefully work something out with their customer service department.

July 15th, 2024 is the date of making this complaint. With 8 days zero communication from MPower Education, after sending 7 different emails and leaving a voice message on July 13th.

I am writing concerning MPower Career Training. I paid $8,499.00 to MPower on December 28, 2022 through a ***** ***** **** account. This charge was payment for tuition for a hybrid massage therapy program, offered online and in person through training locations "local to where you live." I was told at the beginning of the program to expect clinicals to begin as early as February. I was contacted about clinicals on March 2, 2023 about a class beginning on March 27, 2023 at **** **** **** **** ** ******, which is about 2.5 hours and 130 miles from Tucson. Since I still believed at that time that MPower was operating in Tucson, I asked ***** ******, Student Account Manager, if there would be a class closer to me, and she stated, "I am not sure why you received this invitation. If you would, please decline it." I waited two weeks and asked Missy again about clinicals (hands-on training) on March 15, 2023. I received an answer on March 24 that they were still working on this and that I'd be notified as soon as they had a "resolution." I contacted Missy again about clinicals on May 2, two months after the first contact. I offered to drive to the MPower site in Chandler, as that would cut off 55 miles and 1 hour in drive time. My email was passed onto ******* *********, who stated, "I don’t think we have a location there (Tucson)." Not receiving any response, I emailed again on May 10, 2023 and was told they were still “working to have a training site in Tucson.” Another issue of concern surrounds a laptop which I was promised. I was having several issues with my own laptop and sent an email on January 30, 2023 to ask when a laptop would be shipped and then emailed again on February 1, 2023. I was promised on February 2, 2023 to be contacted when it ships out. I was told at that time that since I had paid in full, there was no need to wait until I was further along in the program and that I should be receiving the laptop soon. As of this date, I've never received a laptop.
