Starfish Care Homes and Referral Agent ******** ******, A Right Place for Seniors are teamed up and preying on the vulnerability of families looking for care for their elderly and/or disabled loved ones.
Starfish Village at 321 W Limberlost (owned by **** and *** *********) refused to give our $2100 deposit back because (the reason they gave us) they paid ******** ****** of A Right Place for Seniors $2100 who NEVER SHOWED US THAT PROPERTY!
We were familiar with the property because MY SISTER WAS LIVING THERE! If anyone deserved a referral fee, it was my sister.
We disclosed to ******** ****** from day one to exclude Starfish Village from the search since we were already familiar with it because my sister lived there. We also signed a letter with Starfish Village stating WE DID NOT USE A REFERRAL AGENT to find this property. My mother was there a total of 4 weeks.
The agent got around this by deliberately showing us a different Starfish home. And unbeknownst to us, Starfish and ******** ****** (A Right Place for Seniors) have their own contract stating if they show Any of their properties, they’ll get a fee.
We were told by **** ********* that if we wanted our $2100 back, we'd need to get it from ******** ******, A Right Place for Seniors. How are we supposed to get money back that WE did not pay?

We would like our $2100 security deposit back.
