      Purchased an automotive battery with a 4 year warranty from Batteries Plus 3 years ago. the battery went bad after 3 years and Batteries Plus refuses to honor the warranty.

      Customer had came in to another location not the one this complaint was done on. Customer was made aware battery needed to be charged and tested to get accurate results per manufacture requirements since battery was not brought in at an adequate voltage. Customer declined to leave battery for testing. Batteries Plus is more than willing to warranty a faulty battery within the warranty period, but we must be allowed to follow the manufacturers required testing procedures.

      my complaint is against the Batteries plus off of Cortaro road (that was the one I selected) not sure why your website put the wrong location in.

       

      Anyway,  my complaint is that B+ is burdening the consumer with this requirement for warranty which they refer to as company policy.  I followed all of their instructions and was denied warranty action multiple times.  This caused 4 separate trips to that store location and a few phone calls (I even called their corporate offices to file a complaint).  I had to remove the battery from my car and take it to them after those failed attempts to get them to warranty the bad battery, leave it with them so they could charge it.  They finally did warranty it out, but only after I made this complaint and called corporate.  I still believe their "Policy" to be unfair to the buying public.  I have never had to jump through so many hoops for a battery warranty.  I believe they do this to deter returns and cheat the paying customer.

      Hello, 

      Customer finally decided to let the store he was working with charge and test the battery as it was still brought in under voltage the second time. Battery was brought up to correct voltage and tested bad so customer was given a free replacement under warranty. Manufacture policies are there to prevent good batteries that are just low in voltage from being wrongfully warrantied.

      This complaint was sent to our corporate office in wisconsin. We are a franchise and did not receive notification for his complaints.

       

      He is requesting a refund and this is not possible. The battery is used and since it is used it is not resellable as well as it is outside of our 2 week return policy which we give 1 month in store as a courtesy. Anything over 1 month we allow a store credit as long as it is unused and resellable. 

       

      We can warranty this battery out if it is defective and falls within the warranty policy. If he refuses warranty we can apply a store credit on his account to be used at a later date. This option is only available if he brings the product back to the store.

       

      If the battery is not defective and passes our testing to manufacturer specifications it will not be credited or warrantied as it can be returned to service. 

       

      Please see attached documents for our warranty and return policies. These are attached to the back of our reciepts as well as attached to the automotive batteries when sold.
