June 5, $63.00 ACH was paid with insufficient funds. I got $33.00 nsf charge. $9.95 ACH paid with insufficient funds. I got a $33.00 nsf fee. Had the bank processed the $9.95 charge first it would not have been with insufficient funds. But this "non-profit" credit Union tells me they will not reverse any NSF fee. That these ACH payments are just like writing a check. THAT MEANS IT SHOULD HAVE BOUNCED OUT LIKE A BAD CHECK!!! Credit unions got in good with the corporate commissioners. Extreme executive greed has this struggling single mom arguing and angry at the struggling single moms who work for TFCU. Even these giant corporate owned commercial for profit Banks would have reversed the $33 NSF fee for the $9.95 charge. These tactics might be legal, but extremely predatory and NOT what someone should expect with a credit union! I'm disgusted!

Early April, TFCU closed a dispute I had opened without reviewing any of the documents I provided. I was told the dispute would be reopened and escalated and I'd have a response by April 14th. This was a lie, as no one has contacted me, no information has been sent to me and no one has reviewed my dispute.

I've wanted to close my account with them since early April but have been forced to keep it open by their dispute team lying to me. Had they properly reviewed my paperwork and/or respond by April 14th like they said they would, I would have closed my account. Since April 14th, I've been hit with 11 punitive NSF charges, each at $33. Had they closed my account when I asked the first time, this would never have happened. Had they reviewed my paperwork and sent me a response by April 14th, I would have closed my account.

As of today, I am still unable to close my account due to them not reviewing my dispute.

I've spent no less than 8 hrs on the phone trying to resolve this only to be purposely lied to, mislead and charged fees.

I need ALL fees reversed, I need my dispute properly reviewed and I need my accounts closed. I refuse to pay any fees due to their lies.

I have a case number I can provide if necessary. TFCU alerted me of fraudulent charges and has refused to help. They are now telling me I will be responsible for the obviously fraudulent charges.

Uber didn’t show up but billed my credit card anyway. TFCU texted to see if the charge was valid and I said no. They said to call Fraud Prevention, who said they showed no open claim. My card is restricted and no one has answered their customer service line for days. I’ve spent over an hour on the line over the period of a week. I’ve been sent in a circle of phone numbers through chat and can’t get through b

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 18046350, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

I paid off my 2007 Honda Odyssey with a cashier's check from Chase Bank, made payable to Tucson Federal Credit Union in April of this year. After not receiving a payoff letter or even the title in the mail, I called to find out when they would be sent out. Tucson Federal Credit Union advised me that they have a clause in the loan documents which states that they can withhold the title to a vehicle if the owner owes a balance on any account. They still have not sent me a letter stating that the loan has been paid in full. My past loan account from a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander was closed after I forfeited it back to Tucson Federal Credit Union. The credit bureaus also show both accounts as closed. It doesn't make sense for them to hold my title hostage expecting payment. It doesn't seem lawful to me at all. If I had the money, I would file a lawsuit or at least retain an attorney. I want the title release letter. My email address is pavanalfonso*****[email protected], but this website would not allow me to input it. Thank you so much!

      We
regret to hear of our member’s grievance.  In previous conversations with a TFCU representative, options available to satisfy Mr. *****'s debt and
obtain the vehicle title were provided.  Pursuant to
signed membership agreements and Security Agreement and Disclosure statement,
we reserved the right to withhold the title until all obligations are paid in
full with TFCU.  Since options have been
discussed with the member, we ask that this matter be considered closed.

I have a car loan, car was totaled out remaining balance will be paid by gap. I was current at time of loss last payment 6/24, insurance paid most waiting on gap to pay. I stopped automatic payments 7/19 went inside branch location nw..on 7/25 They charged my other bank anyway. I went back to branch on 7/27 they refunded my payment to my tfcu account. Manager did inform me even tho gap paying I still would need to pay or face fees and credit reporting but did not say they could or would just take money from my savings. On 8/2 they took a double payment from my savings account from tfcu. I called tfcu and the lady put me on a brief hold and told me collection's guy said I'm still responsible for payment and I would get it back as refund after they get gap payment. There is so much wrong with that. How double and how without my consent, previous payments were always made from a different acount,, i only recently began using this account as a way to save money to get caught up on a mortgage payment. They can just go take it? no email no phone call nothing. The loan was only 9 days late of a payment of 186.90 I want the 373.80 that was taken returned. Not to mention insurance already paid a ( loan reduction payment) of 4,610.79, that doesn't count as 1 payment for a few days while we wait for gap to pay.i haven't missed a payment in 2 years and even rounded up my payments to 200.00 Since car was totaled on 6-20 they owe me for that payment as well gap will pay from date of loss. So I'm owed a total of 3 payments. A 6/24 payment of 200.00 that I did make before I was informed car was a total loss and 2 payments of 186.90 totaling 373.80 that tfcu stole from my account. I can provide documentation relating to everything discussed in my statements

      Business Response

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to our member's concern.   In the complaint, statutes 15 USC 1681 and 15 USC 1861 are quoted.  The member's contests that 1681 states that we cannot report his credit history to a credit bureau.  In actuality, 1681 states that we cannot report 'inaccurate' credit history to a bureau.   TFCU has accurately reported this member's credit history and therefore is in compliance with the regulation quoted.

1861 provides the permissible reasons why a person's credit report can be accessed.  One of those reasons is "(A) intends to use the information in connection with a credit transaction involving the consumer on whom the information is to be furnished and involving the extension of credit to, or review or collection of an account of, the consumer;"   We reviewed the member's credit in conjunction with his loan application.   The member's claim that the statute does not allow us to do so is incorrect.

Since TFCU has accessed the member's credit for a permissible reason and has reported on his loan accurately, and therefore remained compliant with the regulations quoted, we ask that this complaint be closed.

      Thank you,

They are still violating my rights to Privacy under usc 1681. If I the Consumer request Privacy, by Law they need to have Respect the consumers request.

Unfortunately, the member has a misunderstanding of the regulations. He does not have the ability to keep us from accurately reporting the history of his loan obligation with us to the credit bureaus.   I've included the relevant parts of our Privacy Notice where it states that we report to the credit bureau and the member does not have a legal right to limit that sharing.   I've also included a snip-it of the member's signature card where he acknowledges receiving this disclosure.

      Thank you,
