      Rented a CoolBox storage pod 7/2020- 9/2022 during a house remodel to store $13,276.64 of our household goods. We trusted CoolBox storage pod was safe to store goods in, so that is why we did not purchase additional insurance from CoolBox. I noticed there was a big dent and a patched hole on the side of the unit brought out. (# 410-16005). I asked the driver who delivered it if there was going to be a problem with leaks since I saw signs of physical damage. He assured me there wouldn’t be. Had I known this unit was defective from a moisture/leak perspective, I never would have rented it to start with. 2 yrs later, we found the unit was compromised in the damaged areas. Everything was covered in mold. Also confirmed with environmental inspector. All contents inside destroyed, most of which irreplaceable. Also highly allergic to mold, so it had also severely impacted my breathing. Medical treatment was required. Customer service deflected & said CoolBox wasn’t liable since additional ins wasn't purchased. I reminded her that regardless, it is still a defective product/liability issue. We were misled. Their hazardous, defective, leaking pod caused substantial damage to both my property and my health. We later learned this is not the first time similar situations have happened & went ignored/unresolved by Coolbox mgt, with customers losing thousands of dollars due to Coolbox's defective pods. All Coolbox portable storage locations have been closed. The only office left open is at* **** ** ********* **** ******* *** ***** Still requesting full reimbursement. Specifically: $4658.69 - All rental fees pd from 7- 11- 20 to 9-15-22 $400 environmental testing fees $13,276.64 - Reimbursement for all damaged/discarded goods $378.88 - Ozone machine rental fees - in effort to remediate contents $790.00 -medical expenses $495.79 -Landfill/removal fees for all goods to be hauled off by the truckload/discarded. Total: $20,000

      In October 2022 I was notified that cool box in ventura was moving to Arizonia and I had to return or purchase the unit.I was also notified I was behind in payments.I immediately mailed the payment to the location I rented from After 6 weeks check was not cashed it was returned as a bad address.Once agian I contacted the call center and was told I should not have sent a payment to that address,and I would still be billed even though I opted to purchase the unit.The customer service Rep "Terry" ignored all my messages and communication to purchase the unit and scheduled a repo for 11/28/2022. I have all my e mails and communication between Terry and myself confirming my commitment to purchase by the deadline of Dec 1st.I was told she had no supervisor,I am being charged for months of rent,which should have gone to the purchase.And now she scheduled a repo.This is a shady company and needs to be looked into
