I woke up this morning to an email from miraval stating that I had a hotel reservation starting tomorrow through the 19th of October. I called and had to wait on hold for over 45 minutes to talk to someone. She confirmed all of my personal information including my phone number and current address even my Hyatt rewards information. Then I spent the next 40 minutes verifying no I did not make this reservation. They asked if I was traveling with my friend kira all sorts of details. I asked how this reservation was made, online or by phone. They couldn't give me that I information. They could not tell me how the booking was made because there was seemingly no credit card on file. I was told that a supervisor would be calling me back in about an hour. This was at 1030 in the morning. I waited with my family who is actually on vacation at the beach for an hour. No phone call. We went on with our day while I worried all day about how someone would book a hotel room at an expensive resort using all my information all day! I finally called back again five hours later spoke to person number two, who was just as baffled why someone would do that. Asked her to please have a supervisor call me because I was very concerned. The supervisor named Annalisa called me told me that the hotel was bought by Hyatt in August and a glitch made them think some people might be staying with them so they created fake reservations under these people's names. I told her I would understand if I had ever stayed at miraval Austin but I had not stayed at a Hyatt in four years and never stayed at miraval. She cancelled the reservation and apologized, however I explained that I felt I should be compensated for my time with two days passes to miraval because this ruined an entire day of my vacation. Between worrying and calling over a reservation I never made. This company caused undue stress to me by creating this reservation without my knowledge or consent and I do not think an apology is adequate.
