We dropped our vehicle off for repair. They had it in their possession for 2 days. After we retrieved the vehicle we assessed the center console and saw it had been completely emptied of its contents.
We are missing a bottle of cologne, 3 gift cards, totaling $100, approximately $15/$20 in cash and approximately $10/$20 in quarters. Totaling approximately $200.
I brought this to the Manager's attention (Jason, Anthony, Andrew). These gentlemen claimed they would "review the tapes and get back with me".
I went back to the store today and they insinuated we are fabricating the story and they take no responsibility.Business Response

Hello BBB,
I have spoken with Gina and resolved this matter.
Although we are confident that none of our staff was involved in this, there was a period of time where the car was parked outside in the parking lot and was out of our security camera view.
I feel Gina is fully satisfied with our resolution and if there are any concerns, please let us know.
Thanks,
Rick Furrier

7/5 I took my car in because it sounded like it was revving too much when barely pressing the gas.
I had to contact them, they let me know what work they thought needed to be done. I gave permission for them to proceed with the work listed.
-change out spark plugs as they were dirty
-change coil boots
-fuel system flush
-coolant flush
-brake fluid flush
They let me know it would be ready Sat.
7/6 I had to call for an update on pickup time. At pickup the check engine light was on, this was odd since when I had dropped it off it was not on. They said it should turn off and if it didn't to bring it back by on Mon. I drove it down the highway and back home to see how it drove, it turned off when I pulled into my house.
7/9 Dropped car off as the check engine light did not turn off. They took it for a test drive and said it had died on them and had to tow it back to the shop.
7/10 I picked up the car, Javier mentioned my oil was low and that I should contact Jiffy Lube. The diagnostic machine read code P0300, misfire on cylinder 6. They changed the map sensor out. I called jiffy lube and it had been sometime since my last oil change but why was this not included in the first inspection? If I was ok to pay almost $1000 on repairs an oil change would not have been over the top.
7/11 Car would not turn on, upon opening my hood my husband found a random part sitting on top of the engine and he noticed they didn't replace a cover. After calling Jack Furriers they advised to towed it back.
7/12 Car was towed and husband spoke with Javier who said the mechanic was reprimanded and they wanted to make it right. No communication for the next 5 days.
7/18 Spoke with Chris who said they were waiting for a new map sensor to be delivered from PHX.
7/19 Spoke with Chris again, said it would be ready by 2pm Sat.
7/20 Picked it up Javier said it was making a knocking sound and that he thought there was a recall on my engine but said there was nothing more they could do.Business Response

Hello BBB,
We are sorry that Vanessa was having car troubles after having work done in our shop. We met with Vanessa and her husband last week to discuss the concerns
Unfortunately, the car has a bad engine, it's got internal bearing damage/failure. We double checked the work we did at a different location and there were no problems found with the maintenance service, or the spark plugs we replaced.
After some research we found Many of these vehicles were eligible for a no charge engine replacement by the Dealership as they were known for this type of engine problem. We are not sure if the engine is bad because of a factory defect or because it was very low on oil when it came into our shop. We recommended they take it to the dealer to see if they will fall under the warranty replacement program.
We will stay in touch with them and help however we can to resolve this. We appreciate their business and want to make sure that this comes out the best way possible for them.
Sincerely,
Jason Davis

Filing a complaints to Jack furrier tire and auto parts. Golflinks and kolb location.
Attached the receipts, sheriff case number and pictures of burnt battery.
My car is service by same company for 11 yrs except I change location this time.
6/7 my car was service for battery replacement.
I got home that morning, as soon as I stop, car made weird louder noise and my husband heard it too. Additionally, smoke came out of the hood.
Called the shop notified them what happened, Jason sent Julio to take a look and claim nothing is wrong. Drove my car at chuze fitness and as soon as I stop I’ve heard the noice again and it smell burnt. I call the shop again and told them what happened. I took to the car and they found out the coolant and some tubes were damage/burst. I got them repair the damage. 6/8 car still running ok, no noise no unusual smell. In the afternoon. I attended the party up sabino canyon area. I drove home and I started going down the stiff slope hill, my car suddenly, died. I have manage to drive slowly go down the hill off the cliff. I stop at the safe area and as soon as a stop I saw big smoke coming out the hood. Called 911, told them what happened. Can’t get out of the car my 9 yrs old daughter crying in Panic mode. She manage to get out of the car the back set door was unlock. Told her to get out of the car and go as far as she could still crying. 911 operator assure me help on the way. I finally manage to get of the car and manually unlock the door. Out of curiosity. I look under the hood and found my car is on fire, fire under the battery. Called 911 again, told them my car is on fire. Sheriff arrive and put out the fire with fire extinguisher. Fire department arrive and check everything make sure it safe. Car towed to my residence for safety.
6/10 called Jason and told them what happened. They claim that has nothing to do with what they repaired and not willing to take responsibility due to faulty wiring and not related to the battery.
My claim is, the fire started under the battery, they might have done smoothing that cause the fire. They are the only location that service my car that cause fire.
Same day called customer care. Spoke to Chris and told me he will in contact with Jason and find out what happened. 6/11 still waiting for phone call, no response, I lift message, filled out complaint form. Called many times still no answers.Business Response

Dear BBB,
We are sorry that the Morales
family had trouble with their car, they have been good customers over the years
and we hate to see anything like this happen.
We did repair an A/C line and replaced the battery for them
shortly before the car failed. When the car came in the AC line had come apart,
it lost the refrigerant and dripped oil and green dye on the engine which
caused the burning smell. We replaced the line and recharged the AC and it was
working normally. The battery was also weak so we replaced it at the same time.
Yesterday we had the vehicle
towed to our location on east 22nd st. and after a thorough inspection we found
that the car had an electrical problem that was unrelated to the repairs we
did. We asked George Morales to come over to the shop so we could show him
exactly what we found. George looked at the car and when we showed him where
the problem started, he understood and could see it was not related to our
repairs but more an unfortunate occurrence that had probably been developing
over the years and miles.
We appreciate all the business we have done with the Morales
family in the past and will try to help them any way we can but this problem
was not caused by the work we had done.Customer Answer

Hi, I am writing a complaint to get assistance with getting My vehicle issues resolved. I have had an overheating problem with my vehicle for over a year. I had work done at the speedway location and had them double check to make sure that my vehicle would be ready to go on a trip to California. On my way to California my vehicle overheated causing me to return the vehicle back to that location. That location conducted a test And I was informed that it felt, and which I found it hard to believe because they had just changed the oil and if my vehicle was fulfilled that test they would have noticed red flags. I called corporate to inform them of the repeated incident I was having and asked if I can take my vehicle to another Jack Furrier location to have it looked at. I spoke with Chris from corporate, and he agreed that I could take my vehicle to the Jack Furrier on first where they fix the faulty thermostat twice, replaced the water pump, replace the radiator, and informed me that my vehicle did pass the test. My vehicle later overheated again and I took it to Larry H Miller Jeep dealership service center on 22nd and pantano To have service since then I did not have an issue Up until a month ago, after having my O2 sensor replace and other repairs done at my vehicle, began to overheat within a week later. I took it back to Larry H Miller JEEP, and they informed me that my engine was good due to a crack in the radiator. I filed a claim with my insurance. My insurance stated that my radiator was no good and was leaking fluid through fenders which caused my engine to be unrepairable. I have all receipts I can provide.Business Response

RE: Complaint
Kenisha Wells-Montano
2012 Jeep
We are truly
sorry to hear that Kenisha had a major problem with her Jeep engine. Listed below
is our response to the situation.
On 4/21/23 with approx. 190,000 miles The Jeep
was brought in to the 5852 E Speedway location to look at an overheating
problem. We replaced the leaking radiator, changed the temperature sending unit
and replaced the thermostat. After repairs were made a routine pressure test was done and there were no leaks in the system. The vehicle was test driven and did not overheat
at that time.
On 5/25/23 with 191,397 miles the vehicle
returned for an oil change and to check for an overheating concern. No obvious
problems were found, everything checked OK and the vehicle did not overheat on the routine test drive.
On 5/30/23 with 192,032 miles the vehicle
returned again for an overheating concern at Freeway speeds. A block leak test and a pressure test were done, and the engine showed signs of a possible bad head gasket.
Kenisha was informed of this finding. This was the first time there was
evidence of a possible internal engine problem. Unfortunately, this 3.6 V6
engine in these Jeeps were not known for their durability and with almost
200,000 miles we suggested the engine was bad. We would not normally recommend major
repairs like head gaskets at this mileage point.
On 6/26/23 with 192,225 miles the Jeep was
brought to our location at 3002 N 1st ave to check the same
overheating concern. They replaced the thermostat with a different brand in
hopes it might help after they pressure tested and did another block leak test.
This time the block leak (head gasket) test came up negative but They recommended
replacing the water pump. The water pump was replaced and during the test drive
the check engine light came on. According to the owner the engine light would
randomly come on while she was driving but then it would shut off on its own.
Diagnostic testing showed the camshaft sensor was failing causing the light to
come on. The owner approved the replacement of the sensor and everything tested
good at that time. The Jeep was driven on a lengthy test drive and there was no
overheating everything was fine.
On 9/30/23 with 199,774 miles the Jeep returned
for some brake work and an oil change and there was no concern from the owner
about overheating. She mentioned she had driven the vehicle to California and back
since it was last in.
April 2024 with 209,357 miles we received this letter from the BBB. The Jeep has over
17,000 miles since it was in our shop for the last cooling system repair.
We
don’t know what caused this overheat that ruined the engine, it could have been
a number of things with that many miles on the vehicle. The repairs we did at the 1st ave location solved the
overheating problems at that time. Those repairs were properly done as the
vehicle ran for over 17,000 miles without a problem.
When any shop works on a vehicle they can’t
guarantee or predict that nothing else will ever go wrong or that parts won’t
fail in the future especially on a 200,000 plus mile vehicle.
Sincerely,
Chris HideyCustomer Answer

Hello,
I am not just randomly blaming your company for insufficient repairs. I have been told by my insurance and Larry H Miller Jeep the malfunction happened due to faulty radiator. Why it chose this time to give out I don’t know. Majority of those repairs done at Jack Furrier I had to have redone at Larry H Miller Jeep. I have more receipts that I can request for them to send me as my vehicle currently remains at their shop.
Thank you kindly!

Hello,
We understand the radiator is now leaking and the engine is ruined. The question is, what caused the radiator to leak and why the vehicle was driven with an overheating engine to the point the engine got destroyed. There are warning lights on the dash that let the driver know it the engine is getting hot. I'm sure there was other indicators to the driver that there was a problem under the hood as well. The folks at the dealership said the vehicle was severely overheated and that's why the engine is non repairable. It's very possible a head gasket started leaking and pressurized the cooling system to the point of the radiator failure. Radiators don't go from working properly to all of the sudden pouring excessive water out of them, something caused this. This engine had intermittent internal problems as we noted when we found exhaust gas in the cooling system. It failed the block leak test on one of the early visits to the shop and the owner was advised of a looming engine problem.
If there is any repair work that we did to the Jeep that had to be re done at Larry H Miller please feel free to send us that information as we will gladly refund what we charged you for any of those repairs. Our understanding is Larry H Millers repairs were limited to the o2 sensors in the exhaust system and some air conditioning work. If we are missing information on other repairs related to the work we performed please let us know.
Sincerely,
Chris Hidey

I spoke with Rebecca yesterday and offered to replace the plastic center cap on her wheel. Unfortunately, it is a common problem that the plastic parts on vehicles in Arizona get brittle with age and will fail. These caps have small plastic clips that hold it on to the wheel and over time they get weak and break when you try to remove or install them. This is a 17 year old vehicle and Rebecca does take care of it however these are wear and tear items that will need to be replaced based on age not because of improper installation. We purchased her a replacement cap and one of the plastic clips broke when our Mgr tried to install it for her a few days ago. We will order another for her and try it again. I'm sorry she feels we were rude and trying to take advantage of her because she was a woman. This would be the same situation regardless of what gender person owned the vehicle.Initial Complaint

I took my car into Jack Furriers to exchange a spare tire for a good tire. They took the spare tire and exchanged it, no problem. But when I asked about my spare that I wanted back the man said there was no spare tire and refused to give me another one. I still don't have a replacement spare tire. I need that spare tire.
I paid for 2 good tires, that's no problem. The spare wasn't supposed to cost me anything.Business Response

Brought my vehicle into Jack Furrier dropped it off to have an oil filter put in it. Came back to pick up the vehicle to three hours later. Drove it from first Street to Grant and the engine started rattling and making a loud noise. Had the car flatbed three times once back to Jack Furrier, they told me that it was my fault. I had to replace the engine. Had it brought to a AAA place to have it fixed? They told me I needed a new engine. Had it flat better back home took the oil, pan and oil filter off metal shavings in the oil pan filter was wrong size and smooshed against the oil pick up and smashed it , the oil filter look like an accordion I needed a pipe wrench to take the oil canister off the car a very large pipe wrench. This car had the wrong size oil filter installed on it and caused engine failure because he oil didn’t circulate through the engine.Business Response

RE: BBB Complaint
To whom this may concern,
Sorry
for the delay with this response. I have
reached out to Mr. Zimmerman twice and left a message with him to
follow up this the complaint but have not heard back from him.
The customer was here
08/30/2023, he had called the day before and stated he wanted a ‘wix’ oil
filter installed and he did not want an oil change. We ordered the filter and
completed the customer’s request. We did check his oil level before he left and
it was still full as you can lose a small amount of oil by changing the filter.
We can verify this as we have full video showing all the service we did to his
vehicle and we have clear video of our Technician double checking the oil
level.
He left our shop and called a
couple of hours later stating that he was 3 quarts low on oil and he was at a
car wash washing vehicle. He also said he already added 3 more quarts to the
vehicle. I told him don't do anything more, let's get your vehicle towed in and
inspect it. We called a tow truck and when vehicle came in it was making
noise.
We inspected the vehicle
there was no oil leaking from the oil filter housing or anywhere else we
could see. The customer stated all the oil leaked out that's why he added 3
quarts and it was bone dry. We checked the oil level and it was actually
showing 3 quarts overfull. We let vehicle run for a while in the shop and still
no leaks appeared. The customer stated we couldn’t see the leak because he
washed car off before calling us to have it towed in, which made no sense.
I brought customer out to
show him his vehicle and what we found and he stated that he didn’t have an
explanation, he just knows it was low.
After showing the customer
there was no leak and the engine was over filled with oil he was calm and
understanding and stated that the vehicle had a previous internal engine
problem with his oil pump and he even offered to pay for the towing and then
asked me if i can find a used engine to install in the vehicle and I agreed.
We
are not sure what this claim is about, the oil filter cartridge was installed
like most others you simply place it inside the canister, We verified it was the correct part number for the vehicle, the part number was indicated on his invoice. He did tell us he had previous engine problems and wanted us to find him
a used engine. That may be his best course of action at this time.

The oil filter put into the vehicle was the wrong size. As you can see from the photo, it looks like an accordion the oil filter cover was cranked all the way up which smashes the oil pick up that allows the filter To work properly. Another words the oil filter was smashed into the oil canister compartment and crushed the oil pick up. They would’ve allowed it to suck oil underneath it thus causing the engine not to get any oil to the top of it. And circulate oil throughout the engine. This has nothing to do with me adding oil to it. The damage was already done by putting the wrong size oil filter in the canister and causing it to be crushed so it couldn’t suck oil through the system. This is the technicians fault for Jamming the oil filter in there and not properly putting the other equipment that goes around the oil filter incorrectly. It was smashed flat. This is incorrect installation that was done. This is not my fault. The technician put the oil filter in wrong and had the wrong size oil filter I have hung onto the oil filter to show you what we have. This is not my fault somebody incorrectly installed the oil filter. I have documented this with photos video showing as I took it out of the car how it looked with everything smashed into the oil canister that holds the filter and the pick up
I am very disappointed that they tried to blame me for incorrectly doing a very simple job, which is putting an oil filter in a car.
