Date of Transaction July 17th (first of 3 checks written). Paid out $$ for removal of: -fallen pine tree -removal of crushed awning -removal of crushed shed -stump grinding with INCLUDED CLEANUP The dispute we have is that it is now a month out from services and we still have a backyard that is not cleaned up. We have a huge pile of stump grindings and broken bricks still waiting to be hauled away. We have tried communication via phone and message but Karl does not return the majority of our calls. When we do get a hold of him, he states that WE heard wrong on times, etc.... We have a mess that was paid for and promised to be cleaned up by a few weeks ago and is not completed. Just today (Friday 8-16-24 at 7:45 AM) Karl and his crew showed up at our door unannounced and wanted access to our backyard and gate so they could cleanup! There was Zero communication to these actions, he did not check with us if anyone was going to be home and/or have access to the vicinity. He just came on his whim of the moment! We had previously scheduled dealings and appointments, and turned his crew member away, that was at our door. Karl has not reached out to us since our last communication over a week ago. Communication is non existent here with him. We need help with some kind of resolution.

    Business Response

    Date: 12/04/2024

In our 35 years of service, this is the first complaint we have ever received with the BBB, and we take it very seriously. We deeply regret that this situation arose and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience we caused.

When we began work on this property, it was during our busiest time of the month. During the job, the client requested additional work, and to accommodate this, we opted to return on a different day to complete everything. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of work at the time and a lapse in communication on our part, we failed to establish a clear set date and time to return.

When we did return to the property to complete the work, we were turned away due to yet another miscommunication regarding scheduling. We truly regret this oversight and the frustration it has caused.

Please accept our heartfelt apologies for this experience. It is never our intention to inconvenience our clients, and we are committed to ensuring that situations like this do not happen again.

    Customer Answer

Saying "sorry" after taking this long to respond to a BBB complaint just reiterates that this company does not respect its clientele.  According to company, it was their busy season, yet they continued to over-schedule and not communicate fully with their clients.  How is this the fault of the clients?  We were very patient and knew he was busy but cut him some major slack.

If he could not have completed the job, he should have communicated so and we would have been looking for someone else to help.  Instead we paid him for a job he never completed and we had to foot out more money to do what he was supposed to finish.

Saying "oops, there was miscommunication" does not put money back into our pockets for the cleanup we have since had to put out to finish this job.

We would like the $500 reimbursed for an unfinished job.  We appreciate the acknowledgement of their discrepancy but we feel like we were taken advantage of for our leniency.
