Jen ********************** was hired for web design on 1/22/25.She was paid $1378.60 which was 1/2 up front to begin working on my homepage design. Content sent for her use: 1/20/25. Goal was around 3/3/25 for completed homepage. No response from designer for over one week. Sent email at 0728 on 2/27 to call; no call - had to schedule a call on 2/28 through her website to talk to her. On 3/3 she announced the home page was done, but it was far from done as it did not depict my business offering, have the design flair of the theme I had chosen, and missed the most important aspect of my business which was clearly conveyed and agreed upon in email conversation. When I told *** this is not a site that depicts what we discussed, *** became defensive and positioned herself to convince me the site was exactly what I ordered. Although *** describes herself to me as collaborative and wanting to help, this is not how *** handled herself with my web project. ***** communication with me was spent trying to convince me the site was what I ordered . Her tone gave me the feeling this was not someone who wanted to work on this project. I continued to try a work with ***, but with her reluctance to collaborate and refusal to set a reasonable completion date, I had no choice but to leave with services unfinished. I asked for a reasonable and fair refund. She came back with charging me for home page completion of $900 and immediately refunded $350 to my credit card which was an amount not agreed upon. I told *** the first step toward a refund of $1000 is to contact the BBB. If this did not work, I would be looking into other options. (Small Claims)
