We hired ******* ****** of Pacific Crest Pools, Inc. in August 2023 to retile our pool. We quickly discovered the initial scope of work he promised was not possible, so we had to change the tile and overall direction of the work. The tiling began and areas had to be redone as the tile was not laid straight. A subcontractor had me go into the pool to check the tile but didn't warn me a hose was still on. I slipped, landing on my left shoulder that I'd had surgery on. ******* had also promised that he would retrofit a pool light. He'd forgotten about that when he quoted us, so we had to pay extra. There were a number of things he added on to the $8K quote (after he'd done a full inspection) that we ended up having to pay extra for, bringing the cost up to $11***** delayed signing the contract until late in the process and we had no choice but to sign for the $11K as the pool already had the demo work done. The final price was around $12K.His father came to fit the light and installed it crooked in a way that compromised the manufacturer warranty. ******* said he would install a new light. I then couldn't get ahold of him for months after dozens of texts, emails and calls. A row of the tiles then fell off and he still didn't respond. He finally did when I left a message saying I had no choice but to take further action. He said he'd been sick and his brother had been in a bike accident. I was sympathetic to this.He agreed to put a new light in the right way (once again) and that he would fix the line of tiles. He then kept giving excuses of why he couldn't come, then stopped responding after I told him another line of tiles had fallen off. This all happened within the warranty period - I have texts and emails to prove it. We are left with a pool that has a crooked light and multiple rows of tiles missing, with more continuing to fall off. The work needs to be ******, so we want a full refund so we can contract with a more reliable and professional contractor.
