    I retained services with College Funding Experts in 2017 to cover advice for his high school years + 4 years of college. The ***************** outlined to me when I signed up noted that they would save an amount greater than my investment on my nephews college experience. That guarantee was that if they couldnt save at least that amount, I would be eligible for a full refund. Throughout the college prep period (*****) and into his Freshman year (*****) I was unable to get a response from them on several occasions. I needed customized financial advice due to our unique situation (my nephew was orphaned & I am his guardian so hes technically an independent student). CFE assured me when I signed up that they'd be able to provide that customized advice catered to our situation. In addition to being generally unresponsive and requiring 2-4 follow *** each time I reached out, they gave inaccurate advice and even incorrectly filled out his FAFSA (listing him as a Dependent), which I had to correct. They had a few projection meetings where they tried to sell ************** policies. Even during those, the financial information they shared was incorrect - despite having the correct information already shared with them. Had I followed their advice without correcting, we would have LOST funding due to their inaccuracies. I emailed regarding the guarantee several times & was dismissed. I was first told that I must wait another 2.5 years until he has a degree. When I indicated that my nephew is not enrolled in college full time, they said he was ineligible for the guarantee. None of their paperwork or the sales video still online mention those clauses to their guarantee. I spoke with a local attorney who advised me to file a Demand Letter for Payment. I did so on 2/5/24 and to-date have received no response. I think their practices are fraudulent (a life insurance sales tactic masquerading as financial advice) which is harmful to other parents navigating college planning.
