We are homeowners who purchased 3 slabs of marble from Roman Marble on 2/08/24. They held the slabs for our fabricator ******, who picked them up 3/22. ****** sent us photos of a layout of the slabs and called us to tell us that the slabs are not good and he doesn't recommend using 1 of them. He said to ask if there were more slabs we could exchange for. I contacted Roman Marble who said they are all sold out. The fabricator then sent me photos to show me what we are dealing with. There are pits and chips and the honed finish was done very poorly (see photos). He said that I would see all of these damaged areas as its a light marble with alot of subtle variation and they dont have fillers that would match and we would always notice them. He said we would have to avoid using certain areas to try to hide these damaged areas, and those areas are why we purchased the marble as that is where the beautiful veining was. My fabricator said he would drop the slabs back to them for us. When I contacted Roman marble about the issues, after alot of back and forth, said we could return them with a 25% restock fee. We were taken aback by this as they sold us damaged slabs. We aren't experts in Stone, they are and they should disclose these issues to us as we just dont know what were looking for. We fell very taken advantage of. We returned the slabs and they took them back. We are now trying to collect the 25% as we see they are trying to resell them on their website and they shouldn't be able to keep our money and resell this. It just isnt fair, its bad business. Their website has no return polices posted, its very sneaky. We paid via electronic link and there was no notice there either before purchase, only after purchase was it emailed in tiny print. We had to buy new slabs and losing this money was very hard on us. We are requesting restock fee $1926.14 be refunded to us.
