      Ditto to all the other one star reviews. They required 10% down, then another 30% after site visit, totaling $8,800 back in August 2021, promising to get the sunroom built by Christmas. After multiple delays and excuses, I made a report to the CSLB. They tried to reach him and he refused to return their calls. I finally gave up and am suing in small claims court and have put in a claim against his bonding company. They said I am one of over a dozen that have filed claims.

      STAY AWAY from HomeStar!! We signed a contract with them on October 23, 2021 for a sunroom to be completed by January 12, 2022. The foundation didn’t even get poured until January 19, 2022. Then we stopped getting communication and no progress was made for MONTHS!! Finally the owner of the company, Dave called me on May 5, 2022 and asked to meet with my husband and I. We were told of the trials and tribulations Covid-19 has had on the business, along with several personal stories. Dave asked for our help to get the project completed by making our final payment. We appreciated the candidness and decided to go forward based off the information Dave promised & his handshake, which he prided himself on. He wrote a final receipt showing our project was “Paid in Full”. After having to have the foundation partially re-poured because of cracking and movement, our sunroom FINALLY got the start of walls being put up on May 25. The contractors did not estimate where our attic was properly, and they ended up drilling into our dining room. They did an awful hack job trying to patch it up, it’s absolutely unsightly!! Windows and flooring were installed in June, and that’s where we were left. We have two windows that the latches do not line up on , so they cannot be secured shut. Our contract was for 3 pocket lights…only 2 were installed. We also have several pieces of plank flooring that move substantially when you step on them. Probably because only part of the foundation was re-poured when all of it should have been! There is a piece that we are waiting to have installed to be able to close and lock our sliding doors. Right now we have wood we cut to keep the doors from being opened & there is a gap between the doors where the piece should go. That part has been promised to us on 3 separate occasions with dates of installation each time. THREE times we’ve been given completion dates!! It is now August 14, 2022 and our sunroom is STILL INCOMPLETE. And we are no longer receiving

      we also contracted Home star construction to build us a patio in December 2021 I gave him $8,000 dollars as a deposit, and its August 2022 and he hasn't even ordered it yet? he keeps using COVID as an excuse? so I call another contractor and ordered the same patio from a competitor. and only gave $990 dollars down for this. And Its all in stock, its a shame he is taking peoples money , knowing he doesn't have the resources to do the work and at least fill my work order with this company. I want my deposit back and I'm cool with this. I just want people to know what this company worth is. this is just my observation of what happen to me. He does not return call, communicate what so ever! and he is still selling, knowing he cant fulfill? I pray for this man and due hope the best for him. don't what to see him go down. I dont know what to do?
