    On 6-24-22 I hired ************************* to paint the interior of my home, repair trim, remove a dishwasher, replace 2 vent screen, repair sprinkler leak and a small drain leak. We both signed a contract. I gave hime a deposit of $1500.00 on 6-27-22. and job to start on ****. He brought materials at 4:30pm on start date giving a "late start to my day" excuse for not starting at 8am as promised. On **** he showed up at 11:30 with his partner *********************** and a helper ***** and his girlfriend. We discussed late starts and helpers..I told ******* I hired him and ***** He agreed to be on time and no more helpers. On 7-1 he sent **** and helper ****** stating he would arrive with material receipt in afternoon and ****** was for one day only. By now he had another $300.00 for materials. I agreed for one more day. They worked from 11:45 - 3:30 when I told them to leave after I inspected work and found they did not stir the paint and the walls were splotchy. They broke the seat on a new toilet and cut a slit in my floor. The only "work" done was taking off electrical/light covers and taping which was dried up and falling off wall. The walls painted in one bedroom and bath need to be repainted. I asked ******* for my deposit back. I told him I would pay for any necessary materials I could use and he could have the rest back. He refused. I told him I would work with a mediator and I just wanted what is fair. I have three cans of paint I can use. I hired another painter and am out $1800.00 and left with damages and a lot of loss time and stress. He has no painting experience and never should have presented himself in that manner. His partner **** did put out some effort but he did not have proper materials or knowledge. ******* bought materials that did not match the job and didn't supply what was need despite all the money I gave him for materials.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/20/2022

    Hello I have a complaint on my business and. In response The home owner *********************** threatened with violence so I did not feel comfortable returning. Even after I was threatened We tried to resolve it so the work could be completed by my helpers. The home owner wanted things painted four times in some rooms which was very excessive. Nothing was going to satisfy the home owner. The home owner broke our agreement. I did not break any agreement and wanted to get the job completed but was told my guys could not go back to finish. ******* demanded receipts at the beginning of the job. I agreed to present all receipts for all deposits and materials upon completion of the work. ******* Also has my tools and ladder and other belongings and will not give them back. ******* Also owes me and my guys money for labor we did do at her home. The main thing I would like to point out in defense of my business is I do not tolerate any threats of violence and will not work for anyone after violent threats. I do not believe anyone would and I also am sure the state license board or the court would agree. What can we do to get this resolved to not impact my business negatively.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I am disputing all information provided by ************************* in his response to this complaint - # ******** received 9-20-22.  I have the contract, text messages, security gate entrance logs, payment receipts and pictures to support my claim. The false claim of violence shows what lengths this person will go to avoid responsibility for his actions.  It became clear to me, two and months ago, I made a mistake in giving a large deposit for materials.  A tradesman in good standing in his community should have accounts at local hardware stores and supply companies.  I doubt I will ever see a ***** of that money  and I do want to continue to warn the community about ********* Gutters and More.         ************************;
