    Scheduled an appointment for 9/21/2023 for an ADHD EVALUATION for my 6 year old daughter. When I made the appointment I was sure to ask, 3 times, if they could do the evaluation in office and 3 different times I was told yes. When I went to the appointment they walked into the room with a paper listing companies they could refer me out to. Without talking to me or asking any questions or any type of evaluation to my daughter. in fact, before they walked into the room I could hear them talking outside the door. The PA that came into the room was asking someone else what they do for ADHD. When the PA came in, she immediately knew it was something she could not diagnose and the first words out of her mouth were we cant diagnose ADHD, but here are referrals. When I expressed my frustration in paying $245 for an appointment just to be referred out they said that fee is for seeing me an referring me out. I explained that I could have called around and found a psychologist that didn't require a referral and they couldn't refund me because their physician took time seeing me, the total time in the room with us was **** minutes most of that time being me explaining my frustration of taking time off work, taking my daughter out of school, and paying for the appointment where they could not evaluate my daughter like I was told they could. Then they proceeded to talk down to me and said I should know only a psychiatrist could diagnose ADD/ADHD. I did not know that, which is why I called her primary doctor for direction. I should of been told at the time of scheduling the appointment that they could make a referral or I can find a psychologist that can see her so that I wasn't charged $245 for the appointment.

    There was a miscommunication between the Practice and the Patient. During initial appointment scheduling as well as during the office visit exam, only medical assessments are done, not mental health evaluations. Mental health referrals to other qualified mental health professionals and offices are made to patients based on observations made by the provider and/or based on verbal statements made by caregivers. The providers of this Practice are not qualified to make mental health assessments.

    Patient and her child have been long time patients of the Practice. The Practice wishes to remedy the misunderstanding and refund ********************** the $245 and apologize for the inconvenience.
