I specified to the owner of ***'s Pest Control that I only wanted my interior sprayed and did not want to have my yard sprayed. I also was told that there would be advance notice given for any time that a tech stopped by.In August, during my first service, my husband was home at the time that the tech arrived and services were executedwell at his direction. In October, no call or text ahead was received. The tech arrived, trespassed and sprayed areas that were specifically designated as non-spray. Because no notice was received, no one was home to receive interior service.*** tried to state that notice was sent by sending a screenshot of a message without a time stamp on it via text. It took several conversations for him to recall and admit that we had had specific instructions regarding my account. *** gave me a lot of pushback throughout this whole process stating mine is the only out of thousands of accounts not to have the yard sprayed. In retrospect, I feel the owner was very much trying to cover for his employee's mistake.Today, another appointment was set with the company for a spray. I specified to the tech who contacted me our wishes, as he was once again completely unaware of my account's request. I inquired which brand of spray was used, as my kittens had gotten ill around the time of the sprays, and I wasn't sure if it was related to that or another issue. *** called and assured me that his brand was completely safe and his techs are trained well. I accepted that answer, and let *** know I wasn't sure that was the cause and that I hadn't been home at the time of either visit so I couldn't really say much more. A few minutes later, *** called me back stating that he had talked to his partner and was asking me to sign a consent form waiving any liability for pet injury; this is arguably an admission of guilt regarding the safety of his products. When I asked why he would need one if his products were safe, he terminated my service via text.

    Business Response

    Date: 12/27/2023

Per company owner: We are trying to protect her kittens and her people. We are not going to go spray again if her animals are getting sick. I am not sure if she is trying to set us up for medical bills, it seems that is what she was trying to do. She was eager for us to spray if she knew the animals where getting sick why would she want us to do that. Nothing was said to us after 4 months. We are regulated by the ****************** and we have been in business for 8 years and never had a complaint where a pet has been harmed.

    Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:

Respectfully, all I did was ask a question. I did not make any accusations; kittens get sick all the time, and as a ****** I always try to learn what might or might not be affecting them. The overreaction on your part is very weird and honestly more worrisome than if you had just answered the question and left it alone. This was horrible customer service on your end, and as you are the one who failed to fulfill the contract my request for reimbursement still stands. It was more convenient for you to cancel- via text- than to remember not to spray my yard. Let's not pretend it was anything else.
