      I went to Brenda Barnes on Tuesday December 5th, 2023 for an infected ingrown toenail and paid $160 for the procedure. When she took me to the room for the procedure, she advised me that I wouldnt need local anaesthetic as it would be a quick and painless procedure. I opted for the medicine because I was in a good amount of pain previously. She then proceeded to wipe my infected area with a single alcohol wipe with only 1 swipe across the whole area. When administering the anaesthetic, she did a stabbing motion in multiple areas of my big toe and told me that I shouldnt be feeling anything since she numbed it. By doing the stabbing motion, she ended up stabbing my toe bone and made a face as if she knew she made a mistake. She went to clip the other toenails and cut my middle toenails skin and said oops and continued. When she checked if I was numb, 20 seconds later, I wasnt and screamed in pain because she applied too much pressure. She then said she would give me more anaesthetic and go find something else to do since she was hurting me. She came back and started the procedure. Throughout the procedure, she was touching multiple items that werent sterilised (including equipment) like my file and her face and the chair. She kept the same set of gloves on at all times and didnt change them when she exited and re-entered the room. She told me that I didnt need any antibiotics or painkillers as my toe would be fine after a day. 2 days later, my toe is still swollen and bleeding profusely and show signs of infection.
