    I had paid the enrollment fee of the amount of $150 on May 2nd and the next day I got a called from FAFSA explaining to me that I have been given the wrong information that the Bakersfield campus does not accept VA benefits at the moment. Even though I had asked in regards the VA benefits over 100 times the school failed to provide me with the correct information and I had to cancel my enrollment and was told by admission rep ***** ******* that since I’m canceling before 3 days I would be receiving the refund of $150 dollars back. I have sent multiple emails on May 19, May 23 and also text messages asking why I haven’t been refunded and it’s been over one month and I still have not gotten my refund nor a response from the school of why they haven’t refund my money. I’m an asking that BBB helps me get my refund as the school has no integrity, provided me with the wrong information, took my admission money of $150 and now they failed to refund the money even though it is on their policy that the money should be refunded. Pls help me get my money back.

    Thank you for submitted this inquiry. After reviewing our records, I do see ****** ******** did cancel within the 3-day cancel period to receive her $150 registration refund. The credit was posted to her account and scheduled to be sent to her. To accommodate ******, we will expedite this and send her check FedEx next day delivery to her home address on file. She should receive $150 refund 6/8/23.

    Unitek College did not honer their contract. I was promised tutoring and help along the way while attending for the LVN preq course. During my participation I had a hard time with converting Mac into Microsoft and the class was moving along. It was a very fast pace class. I was not able to find help that I needed to continue. When I reached out to my advisor, teacher and schools supervisor, I was behind with a lower score. I wasn't given a fair try. The school works with microsoft. My advisor when enrolling only asked if I had a good working computer, I said yes I do. She reassured me that attending with them would be so easy "its like we will be holding your hand along the way". I have tried speaking to the schools director Mr. Kith *******. I have left several voicemails to see if we can come to a resolution about the cost of the program (refund). I no longer trust them because they have been avoiding me.

    I was able to connect with the VNPRQ instructor to follow up on the concerns stated in the complaint regarding getting support from the instructor and tutoring. The instructor informed me student did email her as she was having difficulties with Canvas and instructor was able to assist the student with access. Student then missed a number of assignments. Instructor called student to review Canvas again were student informed instructor she had missed the orientation session (2 sessions offered) which is held before the course and were this information is covered. The instructor also noticed student’s Canvas time zone setting was set to Mountain Time and not Pacific Standard Time, which was also causing student to miss assignment deadlines. The instructor advised student to change the setting to avoid missing more assignments. However, settings were not changed which led to missing assignments. Instructor also advised student that she should not be connecting to Canvas through her cell phone. I have attached the technology requirements all applicants reviewed and sign as part of completing the application to the program.

    The instructor did say student also messaged her asking for help. Instructor responded with a time to set up a zoom meeting with student, but student did not reply. The student did complete the program. This was also a conversation the Campus Director had with the student prior to receiving this BBB complaint.
