  I have purchased a pool from backyard and home. After talking to *******, the owner son and him telling us about all the good warranties and the longevity of a doughboy pool we made a purchase for little over $9000. This was during Covid so the delay was understood but once it was time to install it, there was so many hangups so many issues that we didnt get our pool up and going until September that year. Just about a A few months ago, I called ******* to tell him that my liner has collapsed from the wall. He asked me to send him pictures so I did. I was draining my pool because a pool water was dirty. I was never told the Dues and donts with a dough. He informed me I had drained the water. It would cause the liner to shrink, which I only had the water drain for about 10 minutes before I started to fill it. According to that was avoid in 25 year warranty. I am now buying a new liner which *** had nothing but issues moving forward with this gentleman name. ******* never returned a phone call tells me hes going to call me. Never does call me back until this afternoon. I called the store again to see where my. One of his employees answer the phone I tried explaining to him he was at me, hung up on me several times. I would advise anybody to go a different route and avoid the headache with this company and its associates.

  I'm usually not one to leave reviews, but I feel it's my duty to warn others about the nightmare I experienced with Bakersfield Backyard and Home. It's been a year since I hired them to build my pool, and it's still not complete. What started as a dream quickly turned into a nightmare when I hired ******, the owner's son, to quote the job in May 2022. He promised the project would take five weeks, but it turned out to be a year of hell.
  Bakersfield Backyard and Home is very unprofessional and lacks decent customer service. The first red flag was when their secretary quit after we gave them the initial payment for excavation. She told us she didn't want to be affiliated with such a place and all the horror she's gone through working there.
  ******, the owner, will tell you what you want to hear just so that he can receive payment. He even threatened not to finish the project until he received the last payment. After we released the final payment, he finished putting the pool together, but the project was far from complete, and I'm not happy or satisfied with the results. He received his last payment and ran, constantly lying and telling me he would fix things just so I would get out of his face.
  Bakersfield Backyard and Home provided no after-care instructions and left debris and trash around the pool area. The pool heater still doesn't work, and wooden planks were haphazardly attached to the cement. The fence was thrown back up and fell down during strong winds. There was a complete lack of attention to detail. Pools are far too expensive not to be done correctly or with care.
  I gave them several opportunities to correct their errors, but the work has yet to be completed. My advice to anyone considering Bakersfield Backyard and Home is to find another contractor and run the other way. I don't know how they're still in business, and I'm considering taking legal action. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs."

  After delay after delay on their part then, threat of a lien against my home, because THEY had not completed the job. The contractor, in between my job being completed, quit the company when I had reached out to ask about the completion. Then two weeks later he was back, said they wanted him to finish the job. He told me 24” holes had to be made for the posts, then to be filled with cement before the inspection. This was the delay. I thought it was done only needing the last fan installed but then this comes up. In the end apparently no holes had to be dug. Made me question if they knew what they were supposed to be doing. Long story short, this is not a business I wish I would have chose for patio and windows. The unprofessional window installer asking my senior mother out while installing the windows added to this patio experience. There are truly too many negative incidents for the allowed words here. Finally permit issued after a failed first inspection. Contractor said he “went over” that inspector’s head to a supervisor. All of a sudden, I’m not sure why with no additional changes made, it was approved on 2/14/23. Today 2/26/23 I can see, the patio leaks. I also noticed the caulk the worker put on the patio during he last /rushed visit is beige when the patio and other caulking is WHITE. After first having an estimate 5/2022, I thought I was done finally dealing with this business. Now with the two leaks in the patio I dread having to deal with them once again. Word of advice get more than a few bids on your project. I know I cannot be the only one having this experience with backyard and home. I honestly do not know how they have a high rating. This business does not, in my opinion and my experience live up to those reviews.
