Last summer 2024, my husband and I wanted to add a *** island to our backyard and extend our existing patio. Shopped around and found multiple candidates but ultimately picked ********. On August 9, we signed a contract and was stated we would have everything completed in ***** weeks. I should have known that by signing this contract, it would be a nightmare to work with ********. As we went to pick material, we thought process would pick up rather quickly, but soon I would start seeing red flags and a lot of deceiving promises! RED FLAG #1: We still hadn't sign contract and he messaged that his guys already started framing. RED FLAG #2 While looking through the contract I noticed he had added a grill, when we told him we wanted our Blackstone. RED FLAG #3: Again, looking through contract it said we would be responsible for the water line, when he had taken measurements and asked where we wanted to get the water from in our initial meeting. He eventually agreed to pay for it. RED FLAG #4: When sending him the material we wanted, he stated he could not work with material larger than 24x48 really limiting our options and this is when I was starting to regret hiring him. RED FLAG #5: Asked for minimal lines on the island, and the island is full of cut lines! RED FLAG #6,7, and 8: It's been 5 months and we still have an uncomplete project! Many text messages with excuses why the project couldn't be completed, many broken promises, and many deceitful words that made me ask for a refund on Nov 7! 5 months later and still have an unfinished *** Island that we didn't approve, and no patio! Once again, I asked for a refund because the "patio" wasn't what we asked for and the measurements he took. Stating that we agreed to it and signed, but we don't know the measurements! We are no builders, we solely went by his word that we would have an L shape patio! It's Jan 30th and we still have no refund on the deposit we put down for the patio, and the *** is still incomplete!
