June 20th, 2024 I took my Late 2011 MacBook Pro to Computer Network Zone in **********, **********. I told the attendant that my computer was on some sort of loop. Every time I log in it restarts and does it over and over again. I informed him I had already taken it to the Apple Store for a diagnosis and they said it could possibly be the Ram. I had upgraded from 4 gigs to 16 gigs. ***** employee said that could be the problem based on the test he ran. They couldn't work on it because they didn't have the parts for my model. The attendant (which is probably the owner) told me it was not a problem and that he would get it in working order in a day or two. He charged me $40 dollars just to diagnose it and assuredly told me he would charge anywhere from $100 to $200. I agreed, but when I asked for a receipt he said his printer wasn't working and that he would make note of it. A couple days go by and I hadn't received a call so I called the number listed. The same attendant told me he was working on it and needed more time, he asked me to call next week. I called and said he needed more time and he would call me. A month or so go by and its still not ready. We're exchanging calls every other couple weeks and the computer is still not fixed. At this point he's telling me his technician is not there. I showed up several times and refused to give me my laptop back. He insisted he would fix it for cheap. Going on 6 months he asked me why I changed my number, but I didn't. I was clear that I wanted my computer back and that I was taking it for a second opinion. He said it would be $400 or so to fix. He said it was the ************ and not the Ram. I said no and he got mad. I showed up after the holidays, paid $69 for him to return it to me. I took it to another repair store. 8 Gigs of Ram were missing and the film to the TrackPad was ripped. My computer now works. I paid $175 and only took a couple days.
