We became involved with a company that is misrepresented and fraudulent for a school my daughter was interested in attending running under the guise of UC Berkeley.....BUT they are not. We signed a contract to secure a spot in the class and paid a $1,000 deposit. We found out upon further research that this company has many complaints, some through the BBB. We tried to contact the school right away to cancel but they make themselves highly unreachable. We finally did get through but they are prolonging the cancelation process and it has become very evident that once they have your money they completely avoid any contact. We have presented a claim to our bank as they also set up a $1,000 recurring payment that we did NOT authorize. We are hoping this falls under the right to rescind a contract especially since this company has grossly misrepresented themselves.

I took a $1250 immunology class at UC Berkeley extension. An online class. Unresponsive professor and horrible setting. The tests formats were horrible including spelling. Assignments were on the heavy side and the grading took forever. At the end of the course, having a 97% grade I had to take a final. A final that apparently you need to have a 70% or more in order to pass the course. If you score anything below this grade is an automatic fail, even though I have a 97% on the class. I contacted the professor **** was very ***** and just say he couldnt change the policy when thats was not what I had asked, then I contacted administration which you have to do thru email and they told me nothing could be done. The program is design to fail you. And they dont care about it because they have your money.

In Feb 23' I enrolled in asynchronous Pharmacology. 2 weeks after paying and enrolling in the class, the administration had still not unlocked course materials. The professor was completely unresponsive. UCBx has no phone numbers, and no one who is willing to speak on the phone. It became clear that UCBx provides zero substantive student support. While things did eventually become unlocked, the precedent was set that they would gladly make false assurances about quality and care but little intention of providing real support. All administrative issues with the class came to head around the final exam as it had clearly never been proof-read. Questions were posed about a non-existent drug that they later dismissed as a typo (3 misplaced/omitted letters does not constitute a typo in PHARMACOLOGY). The midterm was in design, format, and execution unbelievably inept. I had a 95% in all course work, with an 88% on the midterm, but none of that mattered on an exam that was riddled with errors and non-sensical questions. I ran out of time trying to look up drugs that aren't real, and deciphering questions that were contradictory in terms. My score dropped to to 57% because 20% of total points were scored in the last 5 questions that I could never answer. I documented the errors and emailed the professor. It took her a week to get back to me. From there things got weirder. The professor called me and we had a constructive dialogue. She made clear she had never seen the final before. She said my grade was still a B in the class, and that I would pass. Then the admin overrode her and said I was to be failed from the class for not scoring over a 70% on the final. I appealed and received a series of dismissive defensive responses. The professor was told by HR not to speak with me anymore. No one ever asked me any questions, nor engaged with me on the phone. They eventually removed me from the system entirely. I have no grade or transcript. Only a receipt.

I am writing concerning a delay in transcripts from UC Berkeley Extensions. I paid for transcripts 3 weeks ago for UC Berkeley Extension. I have tried everything to obtain this transcript. The issue is UC-Berkeley Extension has transitioned completely to email-only contact since COVID. Their only posted number directs you to email. The email address replies with a generic message that they are not able to regularly access records before 2013. It has been 3 weeks now with no response. I have escalated the issue with Parchment their transcript services but still no resolution has occurred and my applications have been delayed.
