    Worst Home Contracting Experience Ever

    I hired Sunshine Gutters to clean and install new gutter screens in August 2024. It was a complete disaster.

    They showed me a set of pictures (the roof is too high for me to climb up myself) that made it look like they did all the work and did it well. It turns out those photos had been carefully taken to NOT show that they had left big gaps in the screens and damaged the roof shingles at each corner. Here’s how I found out:

    When they finished their work, a shutter was damaged and they left behind an incredible amount of dirt and debris along with sharp tools on our front lawn. I called to complain. Sunshine’s owner came out and aggressively argued that I was lying about the dirt (I had cleaned it up) and that the shutter just happened to come loose that day. I was so surprised by the rough treatment that I hired another company to take a look. They found, and photographed, big gaps in the screens and damaged roof shingles at every corner – none of which was visible in the photos Sunshine Gutters had given me.

    It took two months of back-and-forth to get Sunshine to agree to do the necessary repairs and provide the appropriate warranties. And they refused to discount the price – threatening to put a lien on the house if I did not pay in full. They made the resolution process as long and painful as possible, even threatening the lien again if I did not pay the final invoice on the same day they sent it.

    I had Sunshine gutter install gutters and gutter screen on my home in 2018. After the recent storms half of my upper gutter became detached and is now hanging down. Called the company about repairs and warranty service. After some issues with finding my install records was told a rep would be out to assess the work needed, rep never showed up. Multiple calls over several day have gone to voice mail and remain unanswered. Web site foe email contact appears to be non functional.
