I am writing to submit a formal complaint against Baghunter concerning their failure to return a consigned item and their misleading representation of their BBB accreditation status. On February 26, 2020, I entrusted Baghunter with a Hermes bag for consignment. Efforts to reclaim this item began in November 2023, involving multiple communication attempts through phone, email, and their website contact form, all of which were initially ignored.Persistent attempts to reach out, including contacting the founders via LinkedIn, finally yielded a response from an employee named **** in February 2024. **** informed me that a $900 fee was required to facilitate the return of my bag. I immediately agreed to this fee, requesting further instructions on the payment method. However, as of March 14, 2024, Baghunter has yet to provide any information on how to proceed with the payment or return my consigned item. Moreover, Baghunter falsely advertises itself as an A+ BBB-accredited business on their website and telephone recordings. This claim is categorically untrue; Baghunter currently holds an F rating on the BBB website and is not accredited. I have taken the precaution of recording these claims via screen recordings and audio recordings from their phone line to prevent any denials or removals of these claims by Baghunter. I would have never consigned with them if I knew this fact. The disparity between Baghunters public claims and their actual BBB rating, combined with their refusal to return my consigned item or maintain open communication, strongly suggests that their business practices are both deceptive and unethical. Faced with this situation, I see no alternative but to pursue legal avenues to reclaim my property if they dont return my bag.I urge the BBB to note these serious concerns and the fraudulent claims made by Baghunter regarding their accreditation status.I am prepared to offer further documentation or evidence as needed to support this complaint.
