After our second yearly attempt at a a two month summer stay we were told on Aug 30 that our contract did not include the "holiday weekend" Aug 31 and told we had to vacate one day early. We rented the same house as last year as we had provided a "fix it" list and were assured that the house was CLEAN and operable. For $8000. per month we were welcomed to a refrigerator with grey fuzzy mold on the inside as it was not running properly. I pulled it away from thee wall and vacuumed the cooling coils, never been done, and the box started up. I had to go purchase bleach to wipe down the refrigerator. The spa was GREEN! They sent a man to drain and refill it. The filthy stove/ oven had plates of food left behind from the previous renters - gross! Last year the master bath had NO hot water for two months. I was told that it was repaired but the toilet did not flush properly. A three bed, three bath home and only one bathroom functioned as MOST ALL bathrooms functioned. There were cigarette butts beneath the can liners in the kitchen. The list goes on and on. Being booted out one day before the months end was the final straw. I was provided NO paperwork/ receipts of what I paid, $16,000. and no indications of the length being cut short. Calls I placed to ********* ******* and ********* ******* were never returned. This company has some serious problems. I was dumb in assuming that the repairs from last year would be corrected. They were not. I'd really like some paperwork and receipts. Do not work with Big Bear Vacations! *** ********

The cabin is merely a cog in the machine of a vacation rental corporation that couldn't care less about your satisfaction.Air Hockey Table: Although the air hockey table was a significant selling point for selecting this rental, it was nothing more than a nonfunctional relic. Hot Tub: The hot tub failed to exceed a tepid 91 degrees, rendering it unusable for a winter weekend. Barbecue Grill: The advertised grill proved dysfunctional, with only half of the burners operational and incapable of reaching sufficient heat to cook a basic hamburger.Check-In: Despite arriving at a reasonable 3:23 pm, the rental company callously withheld the door code, leaving us stranded in our car until the code finally arrived after contacting the company again at 4:05 pm. Post-stay, Big Bear Vacations had the audacity to claim that their team had addressed the issues promptly, citing alleged repairs made on March 16th at 12:30 pm. However, I did not notify the company of these issues until 5:44 pm. This blatant contradiction exposes the company's attempt to shift blame and evade accountability for its delayed response and inadequate resolution efforts. In response to the hot tub's unusable state, Big Bear Vacations provided a $100 refund and a 10% discount on a future rental. The fact that the hot tub was set at an inadequate ************************************************************************************************** responded when notified. My sole aim was to prompt them to either fix or remove the faulty amenities to prevent future renters from experiencing the same disappointment I endured. Instead, they mercilessly dismissed my grievances, asserting that these amenities, albeit dysfunctional, were still operational. It's clear that they prioritize their bottom line over fulfilling their obligations to provide a functional and enjoyable stay for their guests. Beware of Big Bear Vacations' deceitful practices and contemptuous disregard for customer satisfaction.

I rented a cabin and when we arrived there was no power. So I asked ******************* for a refund so we can leave. He said no and that we should go to a restaurant and wait it out so we did. We are now sitting in the car to stay warm with our one year old daughter.

My family and I recently stayed at your *********************** home from January 2, **** to January 5, ****. We had several issues with the home while we were there.First off, the home was not clean. Not to hospitality standards. We found hair all over the home, especially in the bathrooms around the door and tub areas. There was dirt build up from years of non cleaning in the door tracks for the sliding glass door. There was food and dirt under the couches in the living room. All of the mantles had a layer of dust as well. Second, the grill has not been cleaned since it was new from what I can tell. I had to hand wash the grates in order to be able to cook our family dinner - cooking on grates that have not been cleaned property can produce food borne illnesses. The cooking utensils, pots and pans, and various dishes also had to be cleaned before use. Lastly, not all appliances were working as described. The fireplace was not operable and we had to have maintenance come in the next day to get it lit. Also, the water heater did not consistently provide hot water. At best we could take one hot shower for the entire family per day. The rest had to suffer through **** warm water. And when the temps were in the 30s this was not fun. I have worked in the hospitality industry for the last few years for a large scale apartment leasing company. I currently oversee 500 homes across the Southwestern part of *****************. We have units being turned over daily so I know what to expect when a turnover clean is done. If any of my homes had been in the condition that yours was in when we moved in, I would have had to move the guest out of that home, at the company's expense and find them suitable lodging. At this time I am requesting a refund of the cleaning fee and a refund of one nights rent. We did call and report this to your remote staff, and she agreed the home was not up to your standards.

Terrible, shady business. We stayed here and had multiple issues starting with a 2 hour check-in delay with no notification whatsoever. Everytime we spoke with customer service they said one thing and did not follow through or were not able to help us at all. For example they said they would let us know when we were able to check in and did not, they said they would plow the snow in the driveway and did not. We waited for our check in and had to drive all the way to the office just to see what the hold up was. They said housekeeping was late but place was not clean at all. Carpet was gross and not vacuumed, hair in the bed sheets and all the dishes put away but still dirty. The office manager ***** offered compensation for the delay and that was not fulfilled. Neither was any solution offered for the driveway situation. My car could not make it down the driveway and ruined our plans completely and they did not offer any solutions other than the cleaning fee (we left it cleaner then we got it). Our plans and trip were ruined due to all of this and they didnt not accept any responsibility whatsoever

Do not use Big Bear Vacations for your housing needs. My wife and I rented a cabin on April 19, 2023 for a two night stay to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary. We arrived at the office around 3:15, check-in was at 4:00. We were told that it would be ready between 3:40 and 4:00, and that we would be contacted by 4:00. By 4:30, no contact. I called the office, to find out it was ready. They failed to let me know.
When we arrived at the cabin, there was a large mud puddle in front of the cabin. I carefully drove through the puddle into the driveway. The driveway was a bit muddy but appeared passable. We unpacked our car and entered the cabin.
About an hour later, we left to go to dinner. When I pulled out of the driveway, my passenger side rear wheel sunk in the mud. We were stuck. Fortunately, we have AAA, but it took about two hours for a response.
While we waited. I called the office. to tell them what happened. The person I spoke with said she would let management know. She also offered an alternate parking location.
We finally got towed out of the mud, but our dinner plans were ruined.
A few days after our return home, completed a survey detailing our experience. I received a prompt response; however, there was no satisfactory remedy offered. My car was a mess so I had to to get it washed and inside cleaned. The wheel iim was significantly scratched. The wheels had to be rebalanced. The total for this was over $100.00, not including the rim. The manager said his hands were tied, and that the contact I signed released them of liability. This was negligent on their part. They should have told us about the road conditions and offered us an alternative parking spot in the first place. We are senior citizens in our late seventies. We expect to be treated with more respect. By the way the cabin was comfortable and clean; however, there were some safety items that need attention, broken step on front porch, some broken chairs.
