    I had purchased a Adat elco snake for use with my Adat tape machines. Recently channel 8 on my snake cable became intermittent. The manufacturer Hosa states clearly on their website that they provide a lifetime warranty for any cable or connector they make. So I sent an email to request a replacement under that warranty. **** from customer service refused to replace my elco snake under warranty as they advertised

    I’m writing in response to the recent complaint #19952900
    filed by Mr. ***** *****.  

    Mr. ***** is alleging we’re not honoring our warranty on a
    Hosa product he purchased in either 1999 or 2000. Incidentally, this is a
    product Hosa stopped manufacturing in 2000. 

    I personally called Mr. ***** on Wednesday, April 26, 2023,
    and explained our warranty policy which states:

    All
    Hosa cables and adaptors purchased in the USA are warranted by Hosa Technology,
    Inc. to be free of defects in material and workmanship for the lifetime of the
    original purchaser.

    Even though the product in question which is a “hard-wired
    stage box,” is at least 23 years old, and covered by our original one-year warranty
    as written in our policy for this specific category, these are the steps we’ve
    taken: 

    I made it clear to Mr. ***** on our call that it’s likely we no longer have the parts necessary to repair this 23-year-old product.
    I asked if he understood and told him we would do what we could to attempt to make the repair.  
    We’d asked Mr. ***** to simply pay to have the hard-wired stage box returned to our California address. We would then absorb return shipping.
    We’ve since decided to cover all shipping costs and have emailed Mr. ***** to get his address in order to email him a shipping label. (We are awaiting his reply)
    Hosa Technology was started in 1984 and is soon to be
    celebrating its 40th Anniversary. We take great pride in our
    service. After almost 40 years of providing premium after-the-sale support,
    this is Hosa’s first time to have such a claim filed.

    We hope you can see Hosa is working to take care of this
    matter in a professional manner as we have been doing since 1984.

    Thank you for your time and let us know what additional
    information you need so we can both put this issue behind us.

    I just want my Warrenty upheld as they clearly state on their website. 
    “All Hosa cables and connectors are covered by warranty for the lifetime of the original purchaser”

    As you can see they have refused to honor their advertising and instead been very rude regarding the matter as they responded in this complaint.

    I do not own a hard wired stage box. Clearly the manufacturer doesn’t even know what product my claim is about. However on the front page of their website it clearly states “all cables and connectors are guaranteed for the lifetime of the original purchaser”. I’m just requesting them to honor their advertised warranty. Last time I checked they still sell 1/4” balanced cables and all types of various multichannel cables and connectors so those parts are still available in 2023. But yes I do need this product fixed and do like like the we will “try” to fix it. If the original manufacturer can’t fix their products I don’t know what to say.
