I was in the process of renting a house from ****** and **************** *********************** located at ************************************ and went through the process, got approved, paid the required amount and then they disappeared. I requested my money back and have not heard anything else from them. They are scamming people and this needs to be known to others. If you see their name run.

It is not clear why the dispute is being filed against us, the American Apartment Owners Association.

The dispute is stated to be against purported landlords, "****** and **************** ***********************".

While the consumer provided documents with an extremely old and dated American Apartment Owners Association logo on it, our company had no part in the rental process with the consumer.

I am rejecting this response because: these individuals worked for your company and have ignored all contact and have kept my money. You have not even looked into this matter regarding your answer.

    Sincerely,

    D Solsberry

The consumer claims the individuals worked for American Apartment Owners Association (AAOA). They in fact did not.

The consumer has provided no proof that the "landlords" they were employees of AAOA or that AAOA committed these actions against the consumer.

A copy of an email with a ****** form for an application is not proof of AAOA's involvement. We're sorry the consumer was tricked by this fraudulent attempt to obtain their information. AAOA does not utilize ****** Forms for any forms or even internal documents.

Copies of fake documents with an extremely old and outdated AAOA logo along with misaligned text and formatting issues is further proof it does not belong to AAOA.

Again, the dispute originally stated it was against purported landlords, "****** and **************** ***********************". Landlords would not be employees of AAOA, they might be members. AAOA cannot be held liable for a member's actions. Furthermore, there are no members with AAOA by that name.

AAOA stands by its position that it had no involvement with the purported rental application and screening. It appears the consumer was scammed by a con artist utilizing an old company logo of AAOA to appear legitimate.

Had the consumer first contacted AAOA to ask if the landlords are members, if the ****** Doc was legit, and if the documents they received were drafted by AAOA, they would have protected themselft against this fraud.

We're sorry the consumer was a victim but AAOA has no responsibility for the actions that occurred.
