My neighbor and I hired B** ********* to replace our shared wood fence with a new Vinyl White Fence. The total price was $7,808.00 (my share for my small side fence and gate $1,131.00) I negotiated with him and we got him down by $200. I agreed to pay $2,000 which I did to help my neighbor out with the fence. The contract specifically said, "using existing steel post". When it came to completing my gate, Bon kept my wood post and just trimmed it and placed the vinyl fence over it. I asked him to replace it with the steel post like we agreed to, and he became very angry and would not listen to me. I tried to tell him that I called other Fence companies, and they all confirmed that they do take out ALL wood fence/posts when installing Vinyl fences.

The contract in question says nothing about replacing any wood post for metal post. The wood post in question were newer and I had already installed the vinyl fence using them. My proposal would of certainly contain that information do to the labor involved in removing her wood post in there location surrounded in newer sidewalk concrete.
