Just got an estimate for gas heater installation. Title says "Home Improvement Contract License #******". Above the signature line, it has the following: THIS IS AN ESTIMATE, NOT A CONTRACT FOR SERVICES. The summary above is furnished by Season Control Heating & Air Conditioning *** as a good faith estimate of work to be performed at the location described above and is based on our evaluation and does not include material price increases or additional labor and materials which may be required should unforeseen problems arise after the work has started. I understand that the final cost of the work may differ from the estimate, perhaps materially. THIS IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF THE FINAL PRICE OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED. I agree and authorize the work as summarized on these estimated terms, and I agree to pay the full amount for all work performed. Total of estimate at time of authorization, $6,000.00."This means they can collect $6000 and then demand whatever extra, without finishing a job they contracted for. When I called in and asked for explanation, they have not called me back. They must have figured that I found their scam. I'm glad I checked this BBB site. Thank you.

Dear *******,Thank you for sharing your concerns. We apologize for any confusion regarding the estimate you received. We take your feedback seriously and want to clarify the situation. The document you referenced is an estimate, not a contract, which is clearly stated in the text. The language included is standard in our industry to ensure transparency about the possibility of unforeseen circumstances that could affect the final cost. We aim to be upfront with our customers about these possibilities to avoid surprises later on.It's important to note that once you accept the estimate, it becomes the final price, as well as a contract and we are committed to completing the job as outlined in the estimate. These deceitful scammers have the audacity to massively overprice their services. Can you believe it? They have the nerve to perform the work first and then spring the exorbitant price on you. It's mind-boggling! They shamelessly charge three times more than the average rate set by any other reputable HVAC company, and to add insult to injury, their workmanship is abysmal. They wanted to charge $1200 for leak inspection, where others charge $200.Let me tell you a horror story. One of their so-called "experts," who happened to be the supervisor, managed to injure himself while recklessly trying to force-fit a piece of equipment. As a result, my garage ended up covered in his blood. Disgusting, right? And the cherry on top? They didn't even bother to clean up the mess they created.Oh, but it doesn't end there. Brace yourself for their shameless attempts at upselling. They'll seize any opportunity to squeeze more money out of you. And what's even more infuriating is that their incompetent supervisor constantly flip-flops on his diagnosis, and whenever questioned about it, he has the audacity to reply with an arrogant "based on my experience." It's nothing short of infuriating! This company deserves the full scrutiny of the *** and every regulatory board out there. Their shady practices and lack of integrity are glaringly apparent. They need to be held accountable for their dishonesty and unethical behavior.
