Date of transaction 10/26/2024. Tidal Remodeling has not responded to my requests for refund of the $1,000.00 deposit I gave to them for landscaping work which I cancelled within their 5 day period stated in their contract.

Thank you bringing the issue to my personal attention. I pulled up the job file, and it appears that not only was the project cancelled in appropriate time, but a refund check was mailed out. However, the check was never cashed which makes me believe that it was never delivered. I am seeing additional calls from the homeowner as well asking for her refund, to which my staff appears to have dropped the ball by not recognizing the error. We are issuing another refund to be sent out today, and should arrive in 3-5 business days at which time we will follow up with the homeowner to confirm it was received. I sincerely apologize to the homeowner for having to open a BBB case for a simple issue as a refund check that is due. I will be talking to my staff to see where the matter was dropped, and why this wasn't handled in a timely matter. Thanks again.

    Dear BBB,

I would very much appreciate that you keep my case open until this company actually issues my refund of $1,000 and that I confirm to you that my money has been received.  The company person who responded in the email was not named and I do not trust their response.  The person I have been trying to reach at Tidal is named ****** *****, Project Manager.

Please keep me company until I can confirm to you that all is done.

    With much appreciation.

    *****

My solar system was never certified to be turned on by my energy company. I contacted the solar system installers and they said it wasn't their job to do that. It's been several months now and I'm still paying full price for my electricity. I need the contractor to certify my solar system with my energy company. It's their responsibility to do this.

    Business Response

Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention. We would like to formally respond and provide clarification on the situation.
The homeowner in question had a solar system installed by Tidal Remodeling, which was fully completed and operational as of July 2024. Per our contractual agreement, a final completion payment of $7,914 was due upon project completion. Despite multiple attempts to collect payment, the homeowner has not fulfilled this financial obligation.
Additionally, our system monitoring indicates that the solar system has been producing power from May 13th to November 12th, at which point the system lost Wi-Fi connection. This confirms that the system was fully functional for several months following installation.
We have made multiple attempts to contact the homeowner to resolve this matter amicably, but we have not received the payment owed or a valid dispute regarding the amount due. As such, this remains an issue of non-payment rather than a service-related complaint.
Tidal Remodeling has fully upheld its obligations by completing the installation and ensuring that the system was operational. We request that this complaint be updated to reflect the nature of the dispute and that BBB encourages the homeowner to fulfill their financial responsibility.
Please let us know if any further documentation is required. We appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter fairly.

i hired Tidal remodeling, to prep and paint my home. this included trim, facia, *****, garage door and frame. sales reps presented us with an offer to do the work. they expressed the importance of working with a licensed contractor, and they stressed their affiliation with the BBB. they wrote a contract that explained the work, cost, and terms. we were assured that the prep work would be extensive before the painting. the paint product to be used was supposedly a high-end paint and the whole project was guaranteed. the estimate was high but due to the supposed quality of the product and the assurance that the surface prep would be extensive and of good workmanship, we agreed. we placed our confidence in this company based on the sales presentation. we signed on nov7, work began on the 15th. the person who started the work was a free ***** unlicensed painter for hire. he did not appear to work for tidal. his first day on the job was for 3 hours. he pressure washed the surfaces and left. i thought a crew would return but he came back 2 days later, worked 3 more hours and left. i called the company, they were unaware of his schedule. i began to be concerned. i thought there would be a crew of workers doing the prep. contract terms were not followed, such as removing gutters, replacing worn facia, removing nails, and some cutting of beams was poorly done. i notified the office and they assured me that the ******* would take care of these issues. i never seen a *******. the work order continued to be ignored even as i expressed concern. prep was not complete, paint was applied, garage door paint is cracked and peeling due to poor prep work. downspouts were not painted, new facia was poorly installed. ******* worked total 17 hours with one helper for 8. unacceptable job for a high cost.i sent emails and called. no one has responded. i filed disputes with the bank.******* gave me his business card, not Tidal. they mislead, farmed out to freelance. not what i wanted.
