    We were approached by a door salesman from KOTA energy and after the presentation and discussion we opted to move forward. Install was done on 5/22/24. *** was granted on 7/10/24. All inspections were completed and passed. Was told to turn on system and it didnt work. KOTA had me call Tesla for troubleshooting which I ran through twice. Was told to talk to installer. Couldnt reach installer/salesman until I finally received a text on 7/25/24 stating they went bankrupt and refused anymore contact. ***** has been sure to demand payment to payback the $44,000+ loan. After explaining to them the situation they sent out someone to see what the issue is and decide if they would cover the cost or not. Technician said a cable was missing or couldnt be located. ***** said they wouldnt cover it. Been fighting to get this system up and running with everyone we have a ************************************** business and no such luck yet. Almost a year later and we are stuck with a completely unusable system/battery and a $44,000+ loan to pay back.

    I signed up with ****** services for solar installation. I enjoyed my sales person and even recommended him for my neighbor. I was presented a loan option of 30year fixed loan where I paid around $163/month for 30years. I seemed reasonable so I went with this option. After my solar was installed I started getting payment requests, when I looked into it further my neighbor who has the same sized house paid all up front paid $20,000. My loan was for more than $33,000. When I contacted Kota, less than 3months after the installation to confront them about it. They said they could not do anything. I said if I had know it would have been double the price I would have paid all up front. I talked to the sales person and he never gave me the options. I investigated more, and my loan not only was for $33,000, they were charging me $98/month on top of the first year of P&I did not go to the principle. I have now paid the entire loan off at $33,000+ but if I had paid up front I would have paid $20,000 only (that is a $13,000 difference) furthermore you go to their website and it says solar installation is $10,000-$15,000. This is crazy and literally false advertisement, miss information, and maybe loan fraud because of kick backs with this loan company. I would have never taken an $33,000 loan if i knew it was $13,000 less upfront. When I confront the company about it they refused to do anything about this.

    I purchased solar panels from this company for my residence in ********, which were installed at the beginning of last year. Towards the end of last year, we had a heavy snowfall which resulted in water damage from two leaks in the roof. We filed a claim with our insurance carrier who sent an adjuster - The adjuster indicated that there were two separate installation issues with the solar panels that are contributing to the leaks: 1) the bolts used to fasten the racks for the panels to the roof were not sealed with any type of weather protection, and 2) the panels were installed in such a way that a vent on the roof was being pushed aside an lifted away from the roof. They indicated that I should touch base with the solar company to get these corrected. Since then, I have made 8 attempts to contact this company, all without response. I have sent 4 emails, called 3 times and left messages, and even sent a certified letter via the ***** all of which have gone unanswered.

    A month after June 2023 installation of my 10-panel solar system on my **************, a ********** (Kota Energy Group) technician called to let me know he was going to check on one of my panels that wasn't producing well. I was surprised, and happy, to learn that they were monitoring the system. Tech went up on the roof, came down, said he didn't see anything wrong and went on his way. In the ensuing months, I thought I hadn't installed the solar phone app correctly, and that's why it was showing zero production. Since Kota was monitoring, surely it must be working? In the cold months my utility costs are from gas not electric, so I didn't pursue the issue until this spring. I tried to contact Kota numerous times via email and phone #s were either disconnected or rang endlessly; mailboxes were full. Enphase (the converter company), told me that **** had turned off the system in July 2023 and never turned it back on. Because I own the system outright, and couldn't reach Kota, Enphase was able to turn it back on in early June 2024. I lost a year of green energy and PGE rate paybacks, and it appears I'll have to find (and pay) someone other than Kota to follow through on any warranty issues. I would like to hear back from the company as to how this happened, and have it on the BBB record that Kota isn't reliable.

    We bought an entire solar panel system for our home in April 2023 from ****. It was up and running August 2023. We have a loan for $26,000 for the system. **** committed to installing a working solar system to our home and to be free from SoCal ******************** for around ***** years (except for monthly net metering fees to ****** each month for around 11$). Our solar panels worked correctly for 5 months from August 2023 until January 2024, now they have not produced solar power since February 2024. There was zero communication from Kota about our panels no longer working and when brought to their attention, they have not responded to our emails/calls to repair the issue. **** has not made any effort to repair the issue. We are now paying full price for electricity and paying full price for solar panels that do not work. I would like a refund for the ongoing electricity charges we have paid to ****** since February (approximately $1000) due to inoperable solar panels, as well as an immediate repair (within 5 business days), and if the repairs cannot be completed then a refund for the $26,000 spent on an inoperable system.

    I have had the solar panels installed since February 2024 but they have yet to have the panels turned on due to having to pay PG&E for a restudy that has been pending since January. The panels are on the roof but I'm not able to use it at all. I've tried contacting multiple people but no one is responding any longer and even worse, the customer service line is no longer working. I was promised that the panels would be in operation about 1-2 weeks after city inspection was completed which occurred in April. It is now June and I don't have any updates at all and I'm completely in the dark on what's going on

    We have been reaching out to Kota Energy since November 2023 due to Microinverters being out on our solar panels. February 2024 a tech arrived to our home spent 3 minutes stated parts are needed and will return. No one has returned, no one has followed up. We have been calling, emailing and texting to no avail. We have called and text the *** ***********************, no response. Contacted ****** who tell us to contact ******************* and we get the run around. The customer service line I call has me on hold for **************************************************** to the voicemail. No return call

    We had solar added to our home last year. At time of installation it was communicated to KOTA that there needs to be a barrier to keep birds away. **** never did this and now we have over ten nests under the panels and most wiring is now ruined. We have attempted multiplayer times to get KOTA to respond and nothing. Only one time did they answer the phone and promised a call back with dates to repair. Again nothing from them and no follow up. Very bad company taking money from honest people.

    Nothing but trouble with ****! They came and installed the panels, left a hole on the outside of the house for "insepction" and left. After the 1st rain we had a leak in our master bedroom. They sent someone out who tried to fix it, but after the 2nd rain it was still there. They sent another person out who seems to have fixed the issue. Meanwhile, we failed the 1st inspection with LADWP because they put the panels too close to a retaining wall. They came and moved them. Then we failed a 2nd inspection because of a "paperwork error". Something was notorized they claim. Now its been 3 months. I've been paying for my load every month, but my solar is still not turned on. I was promised a few months of credit for this time, but now my project manager will not respond to any messages. I asked the sales person to help and he responsed and said the owner was going to call me and never did. This company has good salesman, but really bad custimer service. Don't get sucked into this for 25 years.

    After agreeing with the Solar panel purchase from **** Energy. The process took 5 months after installation of the panels for the system to be fully operable. Now after only 3 months my solar system is working properly and I've called 5X's a day while being put on hold for 40 minutes each time for four consecutive days with no answer. But I was able to leave a voicemail for a call back. I have also emailed them numerous times for help on my solar system. After the install this company does not want anything to do with their current customer.
