PRC was called by a plumber sent out by our warranty company. We had a leak in our primary bathroom that caused damage into our kitchen in the first floor. ******* ********* from PRC came and informed us he will deal with our insurance company and stated several times their work would be taken care by our insurance, State Farm. He seemed very knowledgeable and trustworthy and asked my husband to sign a contract after they had already started their work. In good faith, my husband signed it. Our insurance company received their extremely high invoice of $12K for a a few fans and some drywall removal. State Farm reviewed their invoice and only deemed $4K reasonable on their invoice which was applicable to the related damages. They added line items that were not applicable. They are over charging and charging for items that they did not even touch. Their invoice says dinning room area but there was nothing fixed or touched there as leak was in the *********** PRC is threatening to put a lien on our home and stating we are responsible for the difference since we signed the contract. They also damaged one shutter and have not fixed it as promised.Initial Complaint

on or about March 4, 2024 I hired PRC Restoration due to a water leak. I was told that they would settle for whatever the insurance paid so I didn't need to worry about the actual cost but I still needed to sign the contract. The insurance didn't agree with the amount they were charging and now they have filed a lien against me and have an attorney sending me letters. They are not doing what I was told they would do. If I knew they would go back on their word I never would have hired them.Business Response

Good afternoon,
We apologize for the delayed response. Although we dispute claimants accusations and claims, in total, this matter has been resolved. Claimant issued final payment in August 2024, a month after the complaint was made, and the file was closed.
Thank you.
Kind Regards,

In March of 2024, I had a toilet overflow which led to flooding in our kitchen, dining room, small portion of the living room & down through our garage. The plumber that was hired, made the call to PRC. The Program Manager came out to assess the damage. I immediately asked him, what would the charge be. He stated to me, "there is NO CHARGE. We deal with the insurance company. They'll cover everything" They were in the house about 5 days for mitigation and I continuously asked how much and was given the same response "You won't pay anything, the insurance company covers everything." They started of with 3 or 4 workers each day and as the week progressed dropped down to two & sometimes only one person. Explained they could also do repairs after completingmitigation. By the second day, they seemed shady, so we said we would need to check with our insurance company. We ended up going with another company for the pack out of our items and the repairs. At this point we just wanted them out of our house!! If I had known this would result in an insane bill I would have told then to stop IMMEDIATELY!! They lied!!Finally I receive a bill for almost forty two thousand dollar $42,000!!! Our home is less than eightteen hundred 1800 Sq *********** was only done to the first floor. My insurance company eventually told me they would only pay up to eighteen thousand dollars $18,000. Once PRC was notified by my insurance that my estimate was more than my limit, I was then told I would be expected to pay the balance. A total of about twenty five thousand dollars $25,000!! THEY LIED!!Of course they had me sign a release form on the first day with fine print that we would not pursue litigation for any amount below twenty five thousand dollars $25,000... a very convenient number for them given this situation! At this point their office employee ******* is harassing me with phone calls and constant emails threatening to put a lien on our house when THIER employee told us we would not have to pay ANYTHING! Her excuse was that project managers don't have access to insurance limits and couldn't guarantee that..... THE TELL ****** TO STOP PROMISING THAT!! HE LIED!!After going back and forth & applying the amount the insurance company would pay, they decide to offer a "good faith credit" bringing the invoice down to about ten thousand dollars $10,000. What does that even mean?? That you were overcharging us by twelve thousand dollars?? If that's the case you can also "good faith" the remaining ten thousand you said we would not have to ******* I'm stuck with a ten thousand dollar bill $10,000!! Something needs to be done about the deceptive business practices of this company NOW!!!Initial Complaint

We had a burst pressure regulator valve ***** the house that was running full bore for 2 weeks or more in between the insulation and the sub floor. Our plumber recommended prc and they came the first day and did nothing stating that the plumbers were in the way it wasnt until 3 days later that they brought 2 dehumidifiers and left them for 4 days their equipment leaked on top of the floor . It has been over 3 weeks since they started and they havent even removed the subfloor completely yet . There is mold in different places in the house that hasnt even been addressed as an issue yet the workers come ar noon and leave at 5their project managerSergio ******** doesnt communicate with us he hardly answers the phone. His workers have busted our sliding glass door with there saw and havent replaced it. They come and go when theuly want to starting at noon they leave at 5. I had to hire another contractor because Prc is causing more damage then good. It doesnt take 3 weeks to demo and remediate the damage. They never do what they say they are going to we signed a contract for 5 to 7 days and they only come to work 3 dqys of the week. These guys should have their licenses revoked and i will be pursuing legal action in regards to their careless and abhorrent practices for damaging my house.Business Response

We deny the claimants accusations. We completed the services we were hired to perform pursuant to industry standards. The completion of the services was delayed due to several factors, including the claimant re-piping the entire mobile home, requiring the pack out of the claimants personal property, and getting a signed contract from the homeowner. We were hired to perform services relating to water damage in affected areas.Once the services were completed, we removed our equipment from the property. Towards the end of January 2023, we returned to the property per claimants request and performed additional remediation services. Once at the property, we performed another walkthrough of the property (areas we performed services) and verified there was no visible mold. The project manager, ********************, absolutely kept in contact with claimant. There are call records and text messages showing the communications.
As to the sliding door, unfortunately, one of our team members caused the damage referenced; however,we absolutely did replace the sliding doors glass and cured the damage caused. The claimants claim is unclear as to what she is seeking and without clarification, we cannot offer a response. She references repairs but we already repaired the sliding door. We were hired to perform demolition and mitigation services relating to the water damage, not repairs. In fact, we have a confirming message from claimant stating she wants a quote for the repair services.Initial Complaint

The way we were treated by this company is abhorrent and they should no longer be permitted to practice as such. We had a plumbing issue back in August. The plumber immediately called PRC Restoration, Inc. They arrived and merely setup two dehumidifiers with a light cleanup of the floor where some water had dripped from the ceiling. Following this singular event, it was like "pulling teeth" trying to move forward in the ACTUAL resolution of the problem. FINALLY, we had to seek another company to come and finish the job. NOW GET THIS, this company didn't even have the decency to bill us for their work. We had to call them multiple times and finally when we did receive their bill, it was over $2000! For what?? To setup two dehumidifiers!? I spoke with the manager, who only applied a 10% discount, so we wound up paying over $1700. When we tried to explain that the OTHER COMPANY that ACTUALLY came and did the work, didn't even charge that amount, they were completely without any care nor consideration. They insisted that we pay them the $1700, which we did. BUT, is this right? A company that comes, never explains costs to you, then you have to go after them to settle up, and YOU make several phone calls to that end, and then they charge MORE than another company that actually solves the problem for you??????/ Is this right? This is a SHODDY excuse for a company and they need to cease from such improper business tactics. Make everything CRYSTAL-CLEAR from the GET-GO so the consumer knows what they're getting in to. They immediately made us sign a paper from DAY-1 but never-ever mentioned anything about costs! We hope our complaint will stop such preying business tactics from affecting/harming other unwitting customers in the future.Business Response

On August 13, 2022, PRC was contacted regarding a burst pipe at the claimant's home. From the information provided to PRC, a galvanized pipe in the ceiling had burst which caused the water to leak. When we arrived at the property, we walked with the owner and discussed the services we would render and what needed to be completed to mitigate his damages. The homeowner was happy with our proposed services and a copy of the contract (along with the schedule of fees) was given to **. ******** for review and execution. Once **. ******** reviewed and signed the agreement, our highly experienced team immediately began mitigating his damages. Our team cleaned up the water, marked the walls for future reference, took photographs, took readings, and set up the necessary equipment to dry the structure in accordance with industry standards. We asked claimant to notify us when the insurance adjuster would be going to the property so we could meet him onsite. Unfortunately, **. ********'s carrier denied the claim and **. ******** requested, after three days of services, that we pick up our equipment.
**. ******** claims a company he hired AFTER us performed the work for less, but he fails to take into consideration that the first few days of a water emergency are the most crucial and most costly. The services WE performed are the services that mitigated **. ********'s damages. Further, we are properly licensed and have years of experience, training, classes under our belt. Our prices reflect that - as the idiom goes "the price of something usually equals its quality". **. ******** is now downplaying the work we performed but if it were just "two dehumidifiers with a light cleanup of the floor where some water had dripped from the ceiling" why did he hire a professional company? Like he says, he could have done that himself, yet he did not.
**. ******** did not complain about our services while we were performing them. In fact, even after he terminated our services, he did not complaint. His only complaint related to our charges. In the interest of working with **. ******** we gave him a 15% loyalty discount. We believe we have been more than fair to **. ******** with the loyalty discount and services we rendered. The invoice was issued to him within two weeks of us completing our services. **. ********'s hyperbolic claims about chasing us for an invoice are ludicrous. Based on the foregoing, we deny **. ********'s claims against PRC.
Consumer Response /* (3000, 15, 2022/12/09) */
This outfit is VERY unprofessional and the case should not be closed without them being reprimanded. They're claiming that we were happy. This is ABSOLUTELY FALSE. If we were happy, we wouldn't have had the need to find another company to help us. Please resolve this by a reprimand of this company. Thank you!Initial Complaint

In July of 2022, I had a pipe burst in my kitchen. The plumber that was hired, made the call to PRC. The Program Manager came out to assess the damage. I immediately asked him, what would the charge be. He stated to me, "there is NO CHARGE. My goal is to get your claim approved through your insurance". Once PRC was notified by my insurance that my estimate was more than my limit, PRC informed me that the job could not be complete for that cost. I immediately told them to pick up their equipment. The equipment was ran for less than 24 hours. Fast forward a few weeks, I receive a bill for 1887!! Again, I was told there would be no cost to me. My insurance paid 887, and now they want me to pay 1000.00.! There is even a charge for 300 for the call, and a seperate charge for the Program Manager to walk inside my home! Again, I was told there would be no charge at all. I didn't even make the call! This is deceptive. The only thing they did was tape some plastic to the hole! They even charged me for PPE equipment that their employees did not even wear inside my home.Business Response
