On 11-6-24, Earl's Plumbing came to our home to diagnosis and repair a clog in our master bathroom. The tech ran a snake upstream towards the bathroom to no avail. He then claimed we needed a clean-out installed for $800. During this visit, he claimed that we had weeping lead-okum pipe joints. We agreed to the clean-out installation. On 11-7-24, he installed the new clean-out and began snaking from there with no success. He also mentioned that on 11-6 he was able to see the clog with a fiber-optic camera. When I asked him why he could get a camera but not a snake to the clog, he didn't answer. He then stated that they need to hydro-blast the clog and it would cost an additional $1,000. When asked if high pressure water could cause the aforementioned lead-okum joints to fail, he did not respond. Before they arrived on 11-8-24 for the hydro-blast, we cancelled the service. We then called another plumber who stated that the new clean-out was un-necessary. He then proceeded to use a toilet auger and cleared the clog in 5 minutes at a cost of $175. Meanwhile, out **** stood at about $1,000 with Earl's with no results. Incompetence or fraudulent up-selling? You be the judge.p.s We aren't paying Earl's a cent!
