First of all, he's asking for a refund for a mailbox service which was not even related to the case he's complaining about. He opened the mailbox on 10/26/2023 and it covered period from the said date to 2/01/24.  I believed no mail specifically for this mailbox was lost or stolen. The package he was referring to was a drop off, meaning the label was not generated from our store.  At first, he said that it was a *** drop off that he handed to one of my staff which he said handed him a receipt back.  According to him he lost the receipt.   For *** & ***** drop offs (not ***** we have an end of day manifest (meaning all packages that went out on that day was scanned. We tried our best to help him look for the tracking number on the manifest.  But since he lost the receipt, without the tracking number it will be difficult for anyone to track it. Then later on (thru email) he provided us a tracking number which was not a *** but a **** tracking number.  Our store does not give receipts for **** drop-offs. So what he's saying contradicts that he got the receipt which he should kept by the way.  Customers been dropping off and shipping not only mail but packages here at our store.  Most of the time, customers trust us with their packages and sometimes just leave all the items for us to put in the box to be shipped through the carriers.  For him to accuse us of stealing the package that we didn't even know what's the content is damaging to our business.  Since the label was from Offer Up (as he mentioned) and knows that the content is of high value, he should have insured it in the first place. Just this morning, he brought a police officer with him and even waved his car key and saying he drives a ******* Bentley and he has a degree. Just because he had the money and a degree, he can't be accusing anyone of stealing. This is not a stolen mail but a case of lost package.

I am rejecting this response because: The package label carrier has nothing to do with the missing/stolen item. The item was dropped off. That is undisputed. it was in you possession
and never made it to **** otherwise the label would have been activated. They are refusing to review camera footage so the police will. Offer-up does not give me an option to insure. Stolen mail weather in the box or out is still stolen mail under your company's possession. A refund is the least you can do to make up for all this hassle you are causing. If not, I will file a suit.

    Sincerely,

    **************************,
If you cooperated and listened to what weve been explaining to you, there wont be any hassle at all. You dropped off a package that you insisted at first was a *** drop off and we handed you a receipt (which unfortunately you lost in your possession).

Our system CANNOT reprint something thats drop offs. We can only reprint receipts that we generated in the store, which means only if you paid the shipping with us.  You were saying that we gave you a receipt and we only do that for *** drop off and not **** drop offs.  So if thats the case, the label you generated from offer up must have 2 tracking numbers, one *** & 1 ****.  Its called *** Smartpost.  If you can provide the actual label from Offer up and try tracking that package with the *** website and not ****.  We also have the end of day manifest for *** pick up that we can trace and tell you that it went out that day that youve said you dropped off the package.
Furthermore, we are unable to ***** your request to refund your mailbox rental since this issue is totally unrelated to the services provided for by renting a mailbox.  All your mail has been delivered to the box you rented.
It is totally up to you should you decide to take any legal action and we will be prepared to respond in order to resolve this issue.

I am rejecting this response because: your answer does  not make sense. My next steps will be to file with the Postmaster General for stolen mail, and will conclude with a suit until my mail is returned or you refund the cost of doing business here. It does not matter that the mail was in the box or not. You are trusted with mail and it is a federal crime to tamper or steal mail.

Case closed.  Customer needs to clear our business name and staffs with his accusation of stolen package. Customer came 2/14 and gave us a *** tracking number and provided the receipt that we gave him.  Package that he's looking for and accusing us of stealing was delivered on 1/11 @9:38 am.
