They are a fraudulent and dishonest business. They miscalculated my needs by 3.11 tons and did not take any responsibility for it. They made all kinds of excuses saying it was my fault and when I pointed out that they can look over their recording footage to see that it was not my error, but theirs, they said that they no longer have that footage. They showed no remorse or made no apology. They refused to return my calls and when I did get them on the line, they purposefully hung up on me. Do not do business with them. Read the reviews, I’m not the only one.

**** had brought in her dimensions and worked with one of our experienced associates to estimate how much material she would need for her project. She was made aware we are not licensed contractors, these are just estimates & even with our assistance the material is final sale. We also have a sign at our front desk to remind customers we are not licensed contractors; as well as terms & conditions on our invoice they sign acknowledging our materials are final sale. **** had contacted us roughly 2 weeks after we had delivered her material claiming we had miscalculated her order by a substantial amount. We have discussed multiple courses of action to resolve this situation but we haven't been able to come to an agreement.

I contacted them immediately upon discovering that we had a significant amount of rocks left over from our project. I then ran calculations and cross checked it with an online calculator and only needed 1.64 tons but was charged for 4.75 tons.
When I initially walked into their office to purchase rocks, I was under the assumption that they were doing honest business and ran honest calculations. I understand they are not licensed contractors but they are in the business of selling rocks and making honest estimates. They took my measurements and made an estimate of what I needed, saying I needed 4.75 tons. I had no idea that I was agreeing to a fraudulent estimate by 3.11 tons! That is a lot of extra rocks and money.
They have tried to put the blame on me the whole time stating that their guy Richard has never made an error in the 30 years he’s been employed. They said I miscalculated or that I gave them the wrong measurements etc etc. And of course, when I last spoke to the office manager about this issue, I told them to check their footage and will clearly see that Richard made a mistake. Well, she said they no longer have the footage. I wonder why!
Furthermore, they are terrible at returning calls; I have records of multiple calls and voicemails including walking in to talk to them in person. Sarah, the office manager, hung up on me mid sentence the last time we spoke and refused to return my call. The reason we have not come to an agreement is because she told me that I could sell the materials on Craigslist or shovel over 6,000 pounds of rocks by hand, rent equipment and vehicles at my own expense, and then bring it back to them. It’s not like I changed my mind and decided to not use the rocks; it was not a customer error. THEY made the mistake and a fraudulent at that, THEY should right it.
There’s been no apology or “how can we make this right as best we can?”. I have voicemail evidence where Richard put the blame on me. I wanted to believe initially that it was an honest mistake but at this point, I’m convinced that Clovis Stone is a dishonest and fraudulent business.
