I contacted American Home Shield requesting repair a check my stove's oven temperature & also to check a water overflow from my washing machine. An appointment was made & the repairman arrived around 4pm. He looked at the washer & said "I'm an electrician, not a plumber". He noticed a broken latch on the washer & said "I'll have to order this." He then goes to the stove. Stands there & says "We'll start by ordering a sensor and go from there." Receives a phone call & leaves. An other repairman came & replaced the sensor and said " try that out & if the temperature is still off, call us." Which I did. Due to the time frame I had to ask American Home Shield for a recall. Again, the first repairman returns around 4pm. He stands there looking at the stove, doing nothing. So I asked him "Can you calibrate it.?"He said" I"ll have to research this & send you the information so YOU can fix it". No way. He said " well you don't have a manual". To which I replied "yes, I do It's right here". I handed him the manual, he finds the calibration page, told ME how to do it & says "If it's still a problem, call me". He didn't even try to calibrate the stove. He returned to Universal Refrigeration and Appliances and informs his employer that he calibrated the ********* was working fine when he left. That's the report Universal ********************************** sent to American Home Shield. and closed their file. I called American Home Shield and told them the situation so now I have to wait to see if American Home Shield will allow a second opinion for my oven. After, several months, I'm still without an oven. Today, I bought an oven thermometer, placed it inside the oven, and set 4 different oven temperatures. Everyone read 75 degrees lower than the stove indicator.
