The information that the customer supplied you is false. On 6/27/2023 I scoped this project. I provided an estimate for the customer for some of the work needed. He did not want a complete estimate of all the damages at his house. He had called me and he wanted another estimate including paint. I added that extra work to the first estimate. A couple of weeks later, he called me again for a complete estimate of all the damages. I completed a full estimate of all his water damages. I sent the scope of damages to the customer. Many days after I provided that estimate he called me and said he wanted me to do the work. I found that strange because the two previous estimates I sent him he said was "too high." I wrote him the contract that refers to the printout and he signed the contract DocuSign 7/31/2023 with a start date of 8/1/2023. We arrived and completed the first phase and he paid us a check for the contract draw, $2,479.52. Very late in the afternoon after my men had left the jopbsite and were at the paint store and went to the moulding company, I got a call from the customer saying that my prices are "too high" and he does not want me to do any more work. I told him that the paint was already made and the trim had been picked up. He said he wanted me to bring his paint that he had given us to have it shaken up at the paint store for him because he was painting the garage area. I told him I would drop off his paint to him but there would be a charge for this. I had my worker drop off the paint on his front porch and take a picture of it. Several days went by and I got another call from the owner demanding that we come back and finish our work and put his trim on. I told the customer that he cancelled the contract and he can not pick and choose what he wants done out of the contract he cancelled. The total contract price was $8,265.09 There were many estimates done for him. The scope of work he agreed to is the contract pricing. I called him back and tried to give him a rebate but he refused saying I have to come and complete work. He said he does not want me to do paint or flooring which is part of the original contract he cancelled. This man is trying to bully me into doing his trim work and not pay me for the rest of the contract he does not want me to perform. I have been a contractor for 34 years. i have done thousands of jobs and I have no complaints.
